Absolutely! I genuinely can't wait to see Nori Green on the GX. If only it had a full-tan or brown interior option too.

They revealed it at a West Coast meeting last night I saw on Instagram, and they decided to keep it on display today and tomorrow to public.

It's at the "The Lexus Experience" in that one shopping mall in Newport Beach. I went today and it was empty haha.. might be more people tomorrow, seems many weren't aware of it's public 2-day display.

Tomorrow's the last day at that Lexus Experience and then I guess it's off to another debut else where or back to HQ.

The US published GX550 width of 83.22" did not make any sense so after some digging I discovered what I believe is a mistake in the Toyota press releases, in the US press release it states the width is 83.22" and in the World press release it states the width is 1,980mm (which is 77.9"). They are the same vehicle so therefore one spec has to be incorrect.

I made the below drawing to calculate the actual dimensions by backing into the true width by using the published Tread/Track width from the press release plus the 265/70R18 tire width for the Overtrail model. I then estimated the flare extension in order to back into the correct overall width dimension. Since the mirrors sit inboard of the fender flares, they are not part of the equation.

You can see from my drawing below I believe the:
CORRECT width dimension is 77.9" width from the World press release and the,
INCORRECT width dimension is 83.22" width from the US press release.

Fellow engineers and data diggers, please double check my figures and post any other calculations you have.

Oh I'm sure it will...

About those dimensions I haven't seen anything about curb weight yet.

I would assume it will be very similar to the LX600. I know I heard its just 3 inches shorter than the LX600 but the LX600 uses a lot more aluminum panels.

Interesting that the world release specifically states a 3.5 turbo vs the 3.4 turbo in the US release. Since the releases seem to have some discrepancies, I am wondering if all versions will be 5 passenger with 7 being optional for the Premium/Luxury trims. Some of the video reviews were stating 7 passenger for non Overtrail trims, but with the release still several months away, I'm sure a lot of this could change. I'd rather have the extra storage instead of a 3rd row I would never use.

A 2 row luxury + would be ideal for me.

@TexasFunRunner interesting thing you showed showing how the fenders and mirrors go together, makes it even weirder now that they have two different measurements

the Canada press release shows the narrower measurement without side mirrors but your photo shows it shouldn't make a difference.

So comparing the dimensions, US shows 83" without mirrors vs world release showing 79", also length is different, 194" vs 197". The world release would keep it more in line to the current model.

maybe the tow hitch cover makes a difference.

Great catch, I was focused on width, so the US Spec is 197" length vs World Spec is 195" length (rounded up). It seems Toyota/Lexus uses non-technical people to review the marketing documentation. This does not surprise me at all, I've sent plenty of engineering documentation to marketing in my industry and they always seem to get a few errors.

Great eye, that looks like it would account for the extra 2". However, it looks like another error in documentation, as the World photos also show the trailer hitch cover.

Always chiming with all the great knowledge both of you.

If any of you didn't know who TexasFunRunner is, he's a retired and very gifted engineer with years of experience! He's a stones throw a way from Lexus North America Headquarters

@jer is quite familiar and right in the middle of the Detroit automotive industry, not to mention others like pbm317 and Tango Red.

@gor134 is another will be seeing as well.

Great respect for your contributions here and to anyone else, helping keep us all up to date. Currently leaving Rockwall for DFW after both business and personal visits.

When I first learned about the Land Cruiser future in October 2019 and GX 550 2 years ago, it was hard to believe. It has been a great wait to see it all play out.
