I like what MB and others do. I really dislike the Tundra and Sequoyah gauges as they recessed in a bin type display. Personally I prefer the optitron set up. Lexus really doesn’t do digital displays well

I hate how Lexus did it into one gauge.

Just my thoughts, but I think Lexus moving LFA style digital display is the best! I hate a flat square non recessed style display like Mercedes, BMW, and Tesla are using now. Boring. No style at all.

I think lfa style is nice but it’d be nicer if we can display more info there. Lexus in general esp old gx’s is rather simple. Where the artwork is, one can display either odometer info, hp/torque info, sport gauge, drive mode or audio info/artwork. In the center you can display navigation as well or leave blank. MB’s are also nice imo. They have different styles to offer. BMW does too but you need to change with an app.

I test drove one several months ago. It’s a full on old school SUV using a BMW engine. Much more hardcore than the GX and meant to be a modernized Land Rover Defender…the old Defender that is. The one I drove briefly was not production ready but was cool to drive. Not for me though.

I think you can border on having too much info. displayed at once. My 992 Carrera S had so much that you had to tilt your head or move to see it all. It did look cool if you weren't trying to look at it driving. I like the IS 350 F Sport I have because I can glance down and quickly see what I need fast. Everything is front and center. More like a motorcycle. Sometimes simple just works. I don't need navigation or album cover art in there. How many screens do you need nav in? Some cars look like they have 3 now for the two front passengers! Pretty soon you will have navigation screens in the third row LOL.

A friend of mine sent me a link to that company a while ago a
and while it’s cool, it seemed more like a nice jeep to me. Very cool though.

Way too much. Cover art? Really? Lol I don't see a need at all.

This is the best BMW gauge cluster of all time:

I don't know what to say. That is horrible. The only element that I like is the analog clock. At least I think that's one there.

The LCD BMW cluster pictured and the analog “best one ever” display the same info. The only thing the LCD one displays the analog one doesn’t is the song information, so not sure how it’s “way too much”

The new BMW gauge cluster is atrocious. I just don’t know what they were thinking when they came up with that. Seems so easy to have better graphics and more customization like their direct competitors like MB and Audi.
