I don't get this. Tundras weigh between 2-500 lbs less than a 200LX.

I get 13.5 city and 20 highway. Wonder what gives.

Thats terrible lol. This is the first tank, which means economy will only get better, and I'm sure he wasn't babying it.

And that said, 13.5 vs 15 MPG, thats ~ 10% better fuel economy, which is considerable.

Lol.

Right, I said I'm sure it will improve. 10% isn't anything to sneeze at, but well worth skipping for the grunting, snorting V8 they axed....but it's gone and we can't do anything about it. Real time MPG on Tundra forums, some great...some terrible. It's too early to tell.

10% better fuel economy has a big impact in a brand's overall fuel economy, and thats compared to your LX, compared to JDR's Tundra its 25%.

The V8 is gone, gotta move past it.

I know. I've accepted it. Was just saying. I just want more info/tests on this new V6 motor, WITHOUT the damn hybrid. Just the good ole fashioned engine.

But, have you really? You make comments about the V8 being superior constantly.

Well, it is superior. We'd still have V8s if not for CAFE. Imagine the monster V8 this truck would have otherwise.

But yes I'm over it, I have no dog in this fight. I have what I want. Will probably buy a 300LX within 5 years but won't ever jettison the old 200.

Fuel mileage isn't that big of a deal to me, or so I have long believed, but I'll be honest, my Tundra really sucks (literally) in this regard. Can I afford it? Yes. Does it still have good range? Yes, it's a 38 gallon tank. Could I sacrifice the V8 sound for more power and better gas mileage? Yup.

I have decided to keep my Tundra for the foreseeable future, but frankly, I'm already tired of putting in 25 gallons at over 100 bucks and having it last me less than 300 miles. I understand why Toyota made the change that they did.

I see no reason to continue to bring up the V8...the V8 is gone and its never coming back.

Even in the LS, if it had all the other characteristics I wanted, I would have bought it even with the V6.

what held the old tundra back mpg wise was the 6 speed and aggressive 3.91 or tow package 4.3 rear gearing. Great for towing power but horrible for trying to keep the engine in an efficient RPM when you only have 6 speeds to work with. More gears in the transmission makes the rear end gearing have less of an impact on mileage There is hardly a mpg difference between the 3.21/3.92 gearing in the Ram, because there are 8 speeds.

I think he was referring to AJT's LX570's fuel economy vs new Tundra
