Denver sang about the Blue Ridge and Shenandoah River, which lies mostly east of the state of West Virginia, in Virginia, passing only through the extreme Eastern tip of Jefferson County in the West Virginia Panhandle before it meets the Potomac River at Harper's Ferry.
But, since we're on that subject, as I wrote above, there ARE a few good sports-car passes through the Blue Ridge...the best of which go through Shenandoah National Park and cross over Skyline Drive at the top.
And, BTW, John Denver was right.....that country IS Almost Heaven, although development has spoiled some of that beauty over the years.

Oh, I wasn't questioning that. In the music industry, all kinds of sources can pop up.
Denver was not his real name, either.....it was Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. Unfortunately, he killed himself in a homemade ultralight cunard aircraft. Don't want to get too far off-topic, though.
