New Toy: Porsche 911 GT2 RS
#47
daaaaaaamn congrats and thanks for sharing! the GT2 RS to me was always the porsche 911 of all porsche 911s... i'm getting all giddy just at the thought of a rear engined car with sticky 325 section cup tires breaking loose from a roll at 3/4 throttle! the GT3 i feel gets all the attention (not wrongfully so) meanwhile the GT2 is the far crazier

thanks again everyone. truth is now every day i am looking forward to weekend and where i can drive the car to!
i actually had the opportunity to get a black on black with WP including the magnesium wheels few months back, wish i made the call back then. i doubt i will be able to really take advantage of the weight saving of the wheels but it's just another cool factor
i will have to say. for the past decade i kept on saying i want to do more track time or driving schools but work and family have kept me so busy even through most weekends. i guess it's two folds. yes it's great to have work that pays the bills but i am spending a lot of time there, and then i don't want to miss my chance to be with kids and family so i try to attend all activities during weekends. the end result is now i have a car but need to try hard to find time to drive it
to be honest i am ok with the very limited attention i get. most people when they see all the vents and spoiler they probably just think this is a completely riced out porsche. i don't have a problem with that, i want people to just leave me alone. if i were driving a ferrari or lamborghini it would have been much worse. recalling the week i was in the LFA, my goodness at every light people stared at me and the car.
Will keep an eye our for Magnesium Wheels but seeing them available is a rare sight indeed. We have a member that bought a set for his Speedster after he took delivery and they do look quite nice! Agree 100% with your PDK/manual statement as you summed it up perfectly to me. Look forward to your thoughts as you go down the road

that's another reason i've always loved the 959 since only certain people will go nuts over seeing one

Incredibly beautiful machine!
My very first car at 18 was a non-running 1987 Porsche 944S so I'm a Porsche nut all the way. 😁
If I were in your position now, I don't know what I would have done, although my heart tells me to go for a GT3 RS. My dream car was always the 997 GT3 RS and I think I would have to drive both to see what I would actually prefer.
Enjoy this GT2 RS in good health!

Sometimes you get surprises, though.....you never know. My Encore GX, although 3 years newer than my Lacrosse was, actually is cheaper to insure from the same company (GEICO) for the same coverage.

I was going to ask how much insurance runs for a car like that, but, then, I figured, if you can afford to buy or lease one, you can afford to insure it....we don't need to know.

i know people who question me for spending this kind of money on a porsche where it looks just like most other porsche out there, but i guess those are people who are the flashy type. i have always dreamed of a porsche since i was a kid, it's really a dream come true now! on a funny note, i am just glad that the GT and 918 are way more expensive, otherwise who knew how much more i might creep up my price point!
