Calling bunk on that as that rumor has been a thing since 2019.

Engine family and model development does take a few years. I could see it being possible for now especially if Stellantis/FCA made it a mild hybrid I6 turbo engine. Dodge's overall strategy going into 2025, 2030 and 2035 other than a very opaque commitment to making "E-Muscle" vehicles leaves some model years where some more ICE vehicles will likely be in their lineup for a while.

And Dodge does have a history with offering high performance turbocharged models.

It hasn't happened until it's happened but it would be an interesting last hurrah for them, three year old rumor or not.

"An unofficial but reliable source" as the site says is not something I would place much trust in, especially when it contradicts what Dodge themselves have claimed.

Yup, Dodge just killed this inline 6 rumor. EV replacements are 100% coming.

Why You Shouldn’t Fall For The Rumors About Dodge Replacing Challenger, Charger Hemi V8 With New Inline-Six Turbo In 2024

“[We haven’t] spoken to any of those outlets. The Dodge Challenger and Dodge Charger vehicle platforms as you know them today, along with the Hellcat powertrain, will continue production through 2023. In 2024, Dodge will transition to new platforms, new electrified muscle cars (the next generation of that platform will be a BEV, which will be shown in concept-car form Q1 or Q2 2022). We will release additional details in regard to our future Dodge product plans over the next 24 months.”
