Oh. You mean this. The Hyundai V6 is not very efficient anyways.

For the price point yeah, really makes no difference in this segment. You could easily ring out more MPG on a V8 if you really tried. I’d rather skip all the tech the put to shut it down at stop lights etc.

Apart from what Jill has said above regarding fuel efficiency, when we dump a GS460 V8 back to back with a GS350 V6, or a 6 cylinder vs V8 Mercedes back to back - into an intersection or roundabout - we can feel the extra weight of the V8 in the nose, and how the V8 has more inertia and slower to change directions.
This becomes worse in a V10 and V12.

LOL if you think that only applies to Hyundai.

The difference between an NA V8 and a turbo 6 is negligible.

That's part of the reason I see no point in the smaller engines/hybrids, if I drive a larger engine carefully there is very little difference but if want high power the weaker option just doesn't have it. It's pointless and if it has a hybrid system it's now heavier and more complex and probably can't take some of the stuff I throw at my cars.

EVs on paper provide both but there are other concerns and drawbacks I have with them.

Then why are the V8s faster around a track and have better weight distribution? The V8 cars like the S and LS have 51/49 F/R weight distribution btw so it's not really a balance problem at all.

Hell if you compare the RWD versions it gets worse, or the early 460s like mine. It beats the 500

The trend now is for people to “cheer” on engine downsizing and using a battery with a small motor to gain MPG. It’s the way it is I guess. Look at tundra, add in a battery, weight etc and you get more power and more MPG. I will really be disappointed when Toyota introduces the next 4R with the inevitable downsize engine.

I would bet that the main reason the 500 gets the slightly better fuel economy isn't the engine, but the 10-speed auto with the extra 2 gears. That's reflected in the highway MPG, in the city it's a wash.

Ford/Lincoln doesn’t either, Range Rover has stopped producing a V8 they are using BMW’s in the new Range Rover. Mercedes SUV V8s are basically special order now and very hard to get. Can’t even build them online. It’s happening to big SUVs like it did to sedans.

The new tundra is not doing well in real world tests vs the older V8s, I don't think the hybrid has been run yet so we will see.

It's confirmed that the G90 will get Level 3 autonomy like the S-Class and upcoming 7 Series. I doubt any of them will be put to good use on U.S. roads, but flagships have to flex.

The Genesis G90 Is Getting Level 3 Autonomous Tech This Year
