I thought LS500 can get 4.6-5.0s?
Yeah these are all darn fast. Not really makes any difference IMO. For reference LC500 is at 4.7, GSF is at 4.4. Anything under 6 will be more sufficient. 5.3 is more than sufficient for me.
Back to the topic.... It is a nice looking sedan. Still haven't been ready for a Korean car yet.![Frown](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/frown.gif)

I posted the prices, a comparable S580 is $55,000 more than a loaded G90 S/C, I wouldn’t pay that additional money just because the S580 had a V8.

So you're saying an Audi A8 3.0 or S500 isn't a flagship because their V6/I6 powerplants are too near par with say a tunable Mustang 2.3? What about muscle cars and their large supercharged V8's? You're going to say your A8 4.0 is not a flagship because a Hellcat can beat you? Heck, one could build a Civic that has utter road dominance to six figure flagships. Haven't even mentioned the slew of EV's that could smoke flagships. Elsewhere in the world flagships have puny little diesel engines, does that make them less of a flagship among their brand or peers? A flagship by definition is 'the finest, largest, or most important one of the group of things (products, stores etc.)'. Nothing about says it has to be the fastest. A flagship is about emotion and the experience. Based on your signature you have and have had flagships before, that's why I find your statement odd.

It's all about being the best or well above the competition in all but one area, if someone beats you in one area you should be superior in all others.

Correct. I would NEVER buy a 6 in those cars and fun fact I kill hellcats on street starts and they only catch me at 110-120. A civic will never be comfortable at 130 sustained for hours at a time nor does it have any plus sides other than speed if you made it faster, everything else is inferior. If you buy a 6 in those cars the only emotion you would get is annoyed when everything is able to keep up with you and you can't just step up to 120 and away from all the normal cars.

I would get a 6 in the S Class for a large enough price delta. $7,500 isn’t it. It’s already $125,000, what’s another $7,500 for the V8? That’s why you see so few S500s vs S580s

I'm still sad they decided to just get rid of the non-S V8 options, makes sense why they did since the take rate just wasn't there since the S was not that much more expensive and sedans are dying. The 6 is also "good enough" for 90% of buyers, my next car will be a D4 W12 or a D5 60

The best the LS has ever gotten from any major journalist publication 0-60 test was 5.0 seconds. Same with the outgoing G90.
Absolutely. It was more commentary about how manufacture power measurements don't equate real-world performance.

i don't know how many people have driven these large sedans but none of them are SLOW! lol
whether they're under or just over 5 seconds 0-60 that's plenty to get to the starbucks drivethru![Egads!](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/pat.gif)
and whether they're tt v6 or v8 or tt v8 or e SC v8 or whatever, they're ALL incredibly smooth.

Not the LS! Still no auto start stop, and the 48V systems makes that less annoying.

Numbers only mean something if they equate real world performance, which in this case the LS500 is no faster than the on-paper less powerful last generation G90. If its anything like the S500 powertrain, the new one will unquestionably mop the floor with the LS in a straight line lol.
Seriously, how can a vehicle that has 442 ft-lbs of torque be no faster than a vehicle with 70 less. Lexus overstated the power figures.

They sometimes have some mixed vehicles for fun. I think it'd be interesting to add an SUV... like the X5 40i. Lol
I never really looked into the LS specs because I personally don't think it's worth the money but was curious.... Wow with those hp, torque and weight, it's no faster than a standard X5 with 100ft-lbs less and almost 1k more lbs.

G90 should be priced under LS500 while offering performance and luxury that outdoes Sclass. It clearly doesn’t and as a result will sell in minuscule quantities in the US.

So what exactly is wrong with the S580 that i linked which was $119k which is only $20k more not $50k than G90. It has timeless styling, V8, more advanced tech, suspension etc.

There's also nothing "timeless" about the S-Class interior, in 3 years the software and screens will already be out of date and probably completely overhauled in the refresh. Heck it's already out of date compared to the EQS across the showroom floor.
