well the phev s580e is gonna be $150k i bet, so 50% more money had better blow him away.

mercedes will keep selling v8's as long as demand is there and they're not regulated out of existence.

i consider 409hp in a silent and smooth g90 'adequate' as rolls royce would say.
If Genesis continues to charge value pricing, then they will always be known as value luxo brand. 409hp is a step backwards

Short of a Bentley or Rolls, every single LWB luxury sedan is value priced compared to the S-Class, including and especially the LS500.

Think of how far Hyundai Motor Group has come when they can have the Genesis brand have a car with a $100k sticker price and people say "if they continue to charge value pricing..." It's actually pretty remarkable to think about.

Genesis now is only a value relative to the European brands. Compared to Infiniti, Acura, and most of Lexus's lineup, every equivalent Genesis model costs significantly more. Imagine if Acura or Infiniti had the audacity release a $65K compact crossover like the GV70.

That's very true, hadn't thought about it that way. For me, there's no question I'd rather own a Genesis than Acura or Infiniti. Have to give Hyundai credit for how far they've come and what they've established with the Genesis brand.

I’d just like to see the day where the press, journalists and fans stop referencing “value” whenever they talk Genesis. Genesis pricing. Features. And competitors.

Well, you can buy an Infiniti QX50 Autograph (their compact crossover) for $60k so they aren't that far off.

Thats never going to happen, hasn't happened for Lexus. The Germans will ALWAYS be the standard and the others will always be higher value options.

You can't sell a Lexus for the same money as a BMW or a Mercedes, certainly can't sell a Genesis for the same money.

What is interesting, though, is that, back in the 1990s, the relatively new Lexus competition gave Mercedes fits. Lexus was selling more-reliable and smoother-driving cars for less money. Mercedes responded by drastic cost-cutting, decontenting, and lower quality in their products. The result was a big drop in reliability for them. No more of the tank-solid build-quality and materials they had had before....when you could hear and feel a Mercedes door shut well into the next county LOL. The only Mercedes product that kept the former solidness was the G-Wagen.....simply because it dated back to 1979.

They gave Mercedes fits because they were much cheaper. If they were the same price, nobody would have bought them.

According to the Genesis configurator, the 2023 GV70 goes up to $67K, before the matte color options. That's not counting the EV version which will be even more than that.

Infiniti is pretty far off lol

I was responding to your comment about Infiniti having the audacity to sell a $65k compact crossover, not that the GV70 goes up to $68k.

Infiniti doesn't have a $65K compact crossover, so my point still stands?

And my point was they’re already at $60k, so they’re getting close. I didn’t invalidate your point, I mentioned that Infiniti is close, at $60k.
