and there is no objective way an ls500h has a better 'score' than a new g90.
and doug didn't even get the model year right for the g90,
he's a brand snob, that's his perogative.
Nah, Doug isn't a brand snob- he bought a Kia Stinger after all..
His score was based on how people shopping in the segment would think, and the badge does matter to those who want a big flagship sedan. Objectively the LS500h is inferior the G90 in every meaningful respect besides fuel economy (lol).

There's 56 listings nationwide for the GV60, sold in only 4 states, so yeah the G90 is effectively a unicorn.
Fuel economy? The Lexus is so far ahead in MPG…so that’s likely why the “value” score is so high.
ytd, the LS (hybrid and non-hybrid) has sold 1722 units in the u.s., and i bet the hybrid comprises about 5% of that, so 85 units? so it's not real popular, fuel economy or not.
just like the lc500h basically sells zero in the u.s. https://www.goodcarbadcar.net/2022-u...ures-by-model/
Theoretically the Genesis dealer should've taken a deposit in good faith and told the customer they'll place the order when possible.
I totally agree with you and this is the most confusing part. I know he told them he was in no hurry and was willing to wait for a car to be delivered - I also know he was asking if he could do anything to order a car, place a deposit, etc. that would allow them to get a G90 there for him to drive with the understanding he could walk with no penalty if he didn't care for the drive of the car. The only thing they could offer him was to allow him to drive a GV80 to get a "feel for the brand".
Brand is a big consideration in this class. It makes total sense that the LS would be elevated in brand over the G90.
The G90 is just not truly on the level of MB, Lexus. Haven’t looks at Audi or BMW. The powertrain is still behind and the Lexus 3.5 is 5 years older. And remember the G90 has turbo and supercharger and mild hybrid.

the original 2018 LS500 had a Doug Score even higher at 66 Win one of the LS
i have no doubt the new g90 will easily outsell the lexus ls, even with supply constraints.
The infotainment screen and system in the LS is ancient and needs updating. And the remote touch is just awful At least Lexus added a touchscreen.
G90 is cheaper, so of course it will sell better.

If you truly want to be accepted as true luxury player... you kinda need to have top shelf power ratings. G90 is supercharged and turbo and mild hybridized and it is still behind the Lexus 2018 benchmark. Lexus had an 8 speed in the LS in 2007 with 460

You can repeat this as many times as you want, it doesn't change the fact that the 420 HP LS500 wasn't any faster than the last-gen 365 HP G90.

The LS500 has a much lower starting price. I doubt there are many on the road that are $100K+.

Doug scores are stupid, but the brand argument is valid.

Everything I have seen tells me that it’s easily on the same level as the LS.

Not a chance. This will be an extremely low volume car in the US.
