This colour looks better than the white.
I am not quite feeling the rear 1/4 or the rear end. I kinda do like the lower chrome trim they have going. Don't really like the wheel well arcs...but I do like the door handles

I think the current/outgoing G90 is closer to the CT6 than it is to the LS500. CT6 cleared 400 horses with a 3.0V6 while the all new G90 3.5 is stuck in the mid/high 300hp range. Then you have the Genesis dealer debacle. The nice thing about the G90 was that it had/has a V8, not quite Lexus 5.0 V8 but it has one. Cadillac Black wing V8 is a step above the G90 and the LS500

Yeah...Too bad the LS460 went good-bye how many years ago? The LS500 is a much more prestigious car..a better drivers car...better dynamics, the outgoing G90 is nowhere nears as nice or in the same class of car as the LS500...the LS460, yes, the G90 is..but the LS460 is from a whole different ere. The outgoing G90 is pretty nice. A very solid interior but behind in power train development compared to CT6 and LS500..and nowhere near the German branded cars. G90 better than the LS460..hmmmm I definitely think it is.

I think it looks better in white, the dark color pics really accent how far the back of the car juts/angles out which I find really ungainly and unattractive. Gives the entire car an Oldsmobile Aurora vibe.
Maybe it’ll be better in person.

As for behind in powertrain, I would take the V8 in the G90 over the most sophisticated TTV6 from Lexus or Cadillac any day of the week. The G90 only having a TTV6 would be a huge obstacle to me getting one.
And you can see the LS500's influence in the new G90s design. If it has the interior space the LS500 lacks and the ride refinement and quietness it also lacks, then it will be a great option...and something I would definitely consider.

I think rear design is the weakest point for Genesis design. The only one I think the rear is attractive on is the GV70

At least the 460 and 90 both are true flagship feeling cars, the 500 feels like a weird GS with a weak/laggy engine. They can't even keep up with a current S4.......and it's supposed to go against an A8? Yeah right.
Lexus failed horribly with the 500. It's not even reliable to top off the failure, I would take a A8 for reliability over one to say nothing of ease of working on. Lexus didn't even give us a hot Vee V6 for crying out loud! It's like they are trying to push people away, low mount turbos are a huge pain to get to on a car to update them to larger ones that make competitive power.
They should have released a TTV8 in 2013. They didn't and the brand lost true flagship status ever since. There is no comparison against the Germans for performance and power so why did they even attempt to make the 500 "sporty". It only served to ruin the car.
My 460 will be my second to last Lexus flagship, after that I'm going some form of Mercedes/Bentley since they offer truly powerful and smooth engines as well as the option for very high performance. My A8 is fast but lacks refinement vs even my older 460.......but it's impossible to argue with it's performance with uprated turbos, charge pipes and downpipes.
The 500 has a V6. That right there makes it DOA for me.

Looks so much more interesting. The performance of the 500 is far better than the 460. Finally has emotional style as personally I have hated Lexus LS (and most other Lexus) styling in the past. AWD is the same which is good. True flagship? who says the LS has to be the same as everyone else... A few things of the LS500 I think are terrible, the remote touch is probably the worst thing ever. But I like the design. The interior size is to each their own..big interiors create too large of an exterior. The LS500 finally looks like a prestigious branded car whereas past LS models could never shake the value part. LS600h was a great powertrain though,
Audi A8 looks pretty good on the exterior. The interior with the touchscreens looks to be difficult to live with. I also can't stop looking at the awful faux rear exhaust design
New S-Class looks superb. too much screen, not enough buttons.
I wonder what the Genesis design will have? I think it will be somewhere in the middle with some touch and some redundant buttons

So like we said.....it looks nice. The 460 has higher performance headroom than a 500 sorry, it already has forced induction options boosting it to 550hp and RR is developing a 750hp kit. The 500 is maxed out already since it operates at 15-25 psi.

In the end, all you have to look at is sales and the LS500 sales tell the story, its not what consumers in this segment want. They softened the suspension and made the engine more refined in the refresh, but honestly I have no desire to even go try the refresh because of the cramped interior.

The design is beautiful I agree. But...a huge part of driving a flagship car like this is the way it feels on the road...the way it makes you feel when you drive it. The LS500 doesn't have that feel, it feels like a big GS. The A8 rides and drives an order of magnitude better than the LS500, and is way more spacious and comfortable inside while being the same size outside.

Thats the point, the LS500 is LONGER than the LS460L and the same length as all the other flagship sedans, its just much smaller inside.

LOL. When has an aftermarket kit even been relevant to Lexus.
And there are definitely tuner kits for the LS500. An LS500 is faster than a LS460 stock.I respect that you like your past LS models, but I just can't stand the Lexus pre-2015ish, Lexus was value brand until more recently. This new G90 will be closer to a LS500 than it will be to the past LS460, the pics show already show it. hopefully it clears 400hp. Who knows, maybe it will get to 500hp.

I still don't see much of a connection between this new G90 and the LS500. The G90 is clearly going after that "minimalist" design trend that's for better or worse been popping up in other brands like Mercedes and Range Rover or the latest Rolls Royce Ghost. It has very few character lines unlike the LS500 and is still a very typical 3-box sedan shape while the LS500 tries to be a "4 door coupe." The new G90 is definitely sleeker than the outgoing model, but that's simply because of the newer platform it sits on being lower and wider. Same can be said about the G80. If anything, it's the G80 with its more surfaced body and sloping roof that more resemble the LS500. The interior, from what we can see so far, also looks quite minimalist and screen-heavy unlike the LS500.
I also highly doubt the LS500 was much of a benchmark for the G90 because the LS tried (halfheartedly) to be a Panamera competitor that prioritized handling and "coupe styling" over ride comfort and interior space- both of which are paramount to the G90 and its target audience. The new Acura TLX did more to benchmark the LS500 in this regard lol.
