So, with upper interior trim options flagships definitely do use only leather. With a $4,000 upgrade option on the W222 (and the W223) S Class to Exclusive nappa leather all stitched materials in the interior become real leather, dashboard, the door panels, etc. 7 Series and A8 are the same, in fact they are more commonly found with that option. On the S Class and 7, there are interior options above that which even make the headliner full leather. On your G90, the dash and the upper doors were real leather. Range Rover has options for a full leather interior including the headliner on Autobiography trims.

My S560 has real nappa leather seating surfaces, armrests and door pulls, the whole center console is real leather, steering wheel and horn pad, but the stitched dash and full door panels are synthetic because I only have the nappa leather not the exclusive nappa leather.

Leather isn't going to go away, but there are non leather vegan options on even really expensive cars now which is good. Options are good...Ill always want real leather.

+1. Lexus, in particular, does an excellent imitation with the NuLuxe. I see the leather industry more or less like the fur industry.....a needless waste of animal life.

.
Why? You have an issue with leather? I just find that an odd comment considering you own an LC500 which has such delicious leather and trim it looks edible. I can't even begin to imagine how nice your LC smells inside.

The Nu-Luxe stuff is fine and looks good but no I want real leather in my luxury cars.

About this G90, I just really like the current one better. This looks goofy.

Still feels nothing like leather

Wow that is so cheezy, hope it's configurable. Of course buyers of this car will likely know what the Knight 2000 is and might like it out of nostalgia

Once Audi did it, everyone and their mother wanted it.

a lot of that leather was wasted on me. If a fake product is just as good, or maybe better, why wouldn't we want it?

I only have the nappa leather not the exclusive nappa leather.
poor thing.

it won't go away but i think it will become markedly less popular, along with cigars, cigarettes, and because of so many great new materials which are more consistent and cheaper.

Almost every upper end luxury car does something similar nowadays.

always is a long time. tesla doesn't offer leather although i've certainly said they're not really a luxury car.

in the next decade, i expect a big push away from eating/using beef and chicken, maybe even fish, and certainly the ludicrous wasteful (and cruel) acres of cow hide used in cars. i expect this will be consumer-driven.

sure, some people will still want/expect/demand leather, and they will pay a HUGE 'option' price for it. i could imagine it being a $5-10K or more option.
