Anyone also own a beater car?

I used to always have a beater car and a nice weekend sports car when I got out of school. I had an old Corolla with 276k miles and then an old civic that I drove up to around 170k miles that I just donated when I was done with it.
I always liked having a daily beater because I didn’t care how many miles I put on them, didn’t care if it got dinged in parking lots and did minimal maintenance as I just wanted it to run. I even got into a little fender bender and never got it fixed just because it didn’t matter. There is something serene about not caring about the car.

In Mexico, besides my RX300, I did have for a brief period of time a 1996 Dodge Caravan that I helped prop up with my uncle. Used it to drive on that one day of the week I could not drive my vehicle under the dia hoy no circula or today you do not drive laws based on your license plate's final number. My father used to keep around for a long time a 1979 Chevrolet Nova as a utility or he called it a game car for when we went to Miami Hurricanes and Miami Dolphins games. He had a Jaguar XJ6 that got keyed after one game.
