Default My last trip in my IS350

As a lot of you know, I recently leased a 2022 PoleStar 2 that is arriving Monday, and I am probably going to be selling my 2010 IS350 Sport. I already have a few offers from a couple of dealerships as well as Carmax that are pretty insane. She's been an awesome car, fun to drive and a great trip car. I bought her with just 52K on the odometer, and now she has 74K. I've made all kinds of steering and suspension improvements, so she handles the curviest of canyon roads with ease. She's got a loud growl (thanks to the F-Sport Intake) when putting my foot down, and cruises smooth and quiet at 80 mph on the highway when driving normal.

So I decided to take her on our last trip to SoCal. 380 miles of a combination of steep curvy roads and flat straight roads through the heart of California's farmland. I took a few detours on the way, turning a normal 6 hour trip to 8 and half hours.

On the way back, I will probably take Hwy 101 which has some of the most beautiful scenic views

Good on you to take it out and document your last bit of time together!

Definitely keep some feelers out with Carvana and Carmax, btw. They beat all of the dealer offers when I sold my M3.

I did check with Carvana, and they did low-ball me a bit, but keep emailing me asking for more information. When I'm ready to sell, I'll revisit them. They had my exact same car listed, with more miles and were selling it for nearly $27k! I checked the next day, and it was already sold. I may go the private party route, but that's more work and risk then dealership and CarMax

It's a pretty awesome car, definitely the best car I've owned. Many have underestimated it, to their surprise. I would keep it, but I would have to store it. Mice have already gotten to my Sienna, chewing the VVTi sensor wires, so I have to either replace the harness ($1100) or solder a new wire from the sensor to the harness

Heading home today I had smooth sailing, so I was able hit some higher speeds through the Grapevine

I made a video of a 0-100 highway merge from a rest area, but because I was holding my phone in one hand and trying to concentrate on traffic, it came out a bit shaky so I didn't upload it

Check Vroom too. Carvana low balled me by about $12k on my M340 and Carmax and Vroom were in line with what they should go for and maybe even a little higher than expected.

My nieces husband is interested in buying it. If he does that will be the best outcome

That's funny. I sold my IS350 to my niece. She still loves it.

This evening our office experienced a power event that affected some of our network equipment, and I had to go in to get things working. Decided to take the Lexus, on the way back I filled up the tank, maybe for the last time. I'll miss this car, but not going to the gas station and paying out my nose
