Looking at buying next car around 2024 - LC500 vs IS500
#61
Its not an insult, it just doesn't make any sense since it doesnt drive like a Bentley Continental, which you would know if you had ever driven either car.
We have both previously watched the whole video.
I've actually driven the LC several times, just not one with the re-tuned suspension (meaning a 21 or 22) I'm not claiming to be an authority on the vehicle, but bit owns the vehicle and therefore IS an authority on the vehicle. I have at least driven the vehicle.
Soft-ER, but that's not how you described the car. This is how you described the car:
That is not an accurate description of the car. That describes something like say, an S Class coupe...which is nothing like the LC. The LC is far, far more dynamic than that. The S Class coupe is not a "GT car". You are mischaracterizing what a GT car actually is. The LC is more similar to a 911 than it is an S Class coupe, I would say its "in between" those two extremes.

Between the IS500 and LC500 I don't think there is really even a question....LC is the clear answer. I really like the LC and if it was faster I wouldn't have looked around so much last year when I was trying to pick a quick car. I bounced between several and the GSF was a runner only because there is aftermarket support to hit 650hp and better suspension.....in the end it was too small/racerish and cost way too much for what you got.
The LC was the nicest thing I drove overall but so slow for the money I just couldn't live with it, loosing to a stock 5.0 stang or tuned eco boost trucks is just not a feeling I wanted to feel in a car that cost me $60k. Germany was the answer in my specific case/desires since they actually make big cars with all the fancy flagship stuff that are quick.

Totally, I'm talking about a "pedestrian" lower model 911, a Carrera or Carrera 4. They are much rawer than an LC no question, but I think halfway between that and an S Class Coupe makes sense.
If you want just speed the LC doesn't make any sense, but what you gained in speed you lost in beauty/desirability IMO. I just don't care about "losing" to anybody, as I wouldnt be racing anybody anyways. Anyways at the end of the day, whoever I "lost" to would still be driving a 5.0 'Stang or a tuned V6 pickup truck lol. So...I would still "win'.

I can't help myself yet...the LC is amazingly nice but I just can't quite be as happy overall even if it's rolling art if I can't outrun the common cars. A substantial part of the luxury experience for me is the ability to just utterly defeat cars like a 5.0 at their own game on top of having supremely superior comfort and quality.
I absolutely will admit I did indeed give up beauty going down the path I chose, but that's okay since I can always own an LC at some point later and likely will since I still have not be able to replace it as my personal benchmark for nicest car I've ever driven. Fastest? Not even close.....but man it was nice. I have a growing suspicion that actually owning one will have the same effect on me my 460 did/does where it's just so nice, despite being on paper worse.
I just don't get that same highly content/relaxed feeling in my other cars.
