Default Chrysler Airflow Concept, brand will go all-EV by 2028

Perhaps the last feeble attempt to save the Chrysler brand from falling into oblivion.

And assuming the brand even survives for this long:

Chrysler announces at CES 2022 it's going all-electric by 2028

Interesting name choice as the original Airflow was really a car ahead of its time. Here's a couple of pics of a '35 I saw during the summer of 2020.

Chrysler hasn't explicitly said the Airflow is coming to production, but this concept looks like it's almost ready for market.
Looks pretty close. Chrysler needs this in their arsenal asap

Nice design- cross between ModelX and Cayenne Coupe.

why don’t they make it for now with ICE motor. It should sell well.

Its not as simple as just thowing in an ICE motor. If its designed from the ground up as an EV its not compatible with an ICE drivetrain.

It feels like the Chrysler and Sony EVs are pretty similar. For example, they tend to use the white interior that Tesla made popular. They tend to use three big screens and the outside shape tend to be similar too

That interior is nowhere near production ready.

My only issue...why the stupid square steering wheels? At least its not like a plaid where it doesn't even have a real steering wheel, but I hate the squared wheel on the C8 and can't stand it on this either.

Other than that, phenomenal design.

I like it, and it’s hard for me to say that, as I don’t like Chrysler. My wife loves them though. She would want this.

No one said it was, that seems pretty obvious. My comment is geared towards the exterior and car as a whole.

The rectangular-shaped wheel might (?) be a retro design on Chrysler's part. We saw that on some of the full-sized early-60s Chrysler vehicles.

Here, for example, is the 1964 Chrysler New Yorker.

Just look at it this way......on Corvettes, the square wheel makes it easier for the overweight / obese Baby-Boomers in their 60s, trying to re-live their youth with these cars, to get their big legs and bellies in and out under the wheel LOL

(I'm not refering to you, Josh, but to the guys who are two or three decades older than you)

yeah this chrysler has "me too" all over it.

and chrysler had to say something, so 2028 seems like far enough away no one questions it, but they've now at least said something.

First time I've heard that Tesla made the white interior popular. That trend started in the late 2000s with luxury brands.

Meh the building blocks are all in place so I don't actually feel skeptical about them delivering what they said they will. None of the things mentioned here in terms of EV tech is going to be Chrysler specific- it's going to be used all across the Stellantis brands. I actually suspect the only reason they chose 2028 is because that's when they'll feel comfortable killing the last of the ICE minivans, which will likely be the budget-leader Voyager.
