funny, i found the x7 3rd row to be almost useless too... i'd hate to have to spend more than 10 minutes in it.

Except the optional audio package as an example. Why do you think they did that? Chip shortage. And thats hugely significant since the basic audio is crappy, audio in the MDX will be superior for sure. There are also trim and extended leather options that are limited.

Have you looked at the new MDX? Its better in this regard.

But the engine is not transversely mounted as it is in the MDX, that has a huge impact on interior space. The Q7 is absolutely bigger.

Its actually pretty good as third rows go (not the best). Perfectly fine for kids for even long stretches
