It looks like if Mazda made a knock-off version of its own vehicle. Lol.

Looks nice. Kinda looks like an Audi inside

Some highlights from the leaked European Press Kit, from a different forum. Link here: https://webcache.googleusercontent.c...&client=safari

CX-60 PHEV:
Front engine, RWD architecture
2.5L 4cyl with 100kW electric motor and 355V, 17.8 kWh battery
8-speed auto transmission
322 hp, 369 tq
0-100 km/h in 5.8s
60 km range on electric motor with the vehicle running at 100 km/h or less
4 hours to charge the battery from empty with a 220-240v power supply
Full-time AWD
Double wishbone suspension up front, multi-link in the rear
5500 lb towing capacity
Curb weight of 4568 lbs

Aside from the audio supplier, it sounds like they're taking steps in the right direction to me. Driver Positioning System sounds like a nice touch.

The CX 60 looks better in other colors vs. the white shown above. I like the RWD proportions. I don't know if it's enough to help Mazda sales here in the U.S. but they something alongside the CX5 for volume. I hope it does well for them.

Two things I noticed from that press release:

1. The 2.5L PHEV seems to be completely developed in-house by Mazda, nothing shared with Toyota. Not even the battery is the same.
2. The 8-speed transmission is not a torque convertor automatic, but a DCT, also developed in-house by Mazda.

In Mazda fashion they threw a lot of money at this car and I'm not sure if they'll get it back. What I am sure about is that Toyota has little to nothing to do with this car, so don't expect any of this to show up in any Lexus products ever.

The big question mark will be price. The only way I can see this being profitable is if they charge Genesis GV70 money or even higher, which would be suicide for Mazda.

Specs are ballpark RAV4 Prime I think? But will assume this is a class or so bigger.

No, this has nothing to do with the Prime. Not a single part is shared. 100% Mazda.

Never said it shared a part. Just that the specs (power, range etc) seem to maybe compare to a Prime.

Good video of a top-trim CX-60 from Thomas at Autogefühl. He goes over the exterior design, interior, materials, even a quick underhood shot.

He mentions a starting price of $50000 euro, and also states that the PHEV pricing starts where the CX-5 tops out.

Nice Mazda.

Only thing I do not like are the lack of door courtesy lights and the faux exhaust. Other than that, great job.

Follow up on this... that's exactly what they did. CX-60 starts at €47,390 in Germany, £43,950 in the UK. A BMW X3 starts at £44,205 in the UK while the GV70 is £39,450.

This is dead on arrival.

EDIT: To be fair to Mazda, an X3 PHEV starts at £49,250 so it's not as bad as I initially thought. But coming out the gate with a car that starts at £44K seems like a very risky idea unless you're a luxury brand.

watched that video. it's nice (although cramped rear seat) but doesn't appear to bring anything new to the market. i do not believe it will sell any better than any previous mazda. i really don't know why they went to all that trouble.
