Toyota BZ-sedan spied
Toyota "BZ-Sedan": first spy shots of the production model...
This is pretty surprising. I really didn't expect to see a production prototype of the electric sedan concept we saw last year that soon.
The concept was part of that giant unveiling Toyota did just a few months ago. Showing about 20 different concepts of upcoming EVs. Obviously, the sedan model was already quite advanced. As you can see, the production prototype seems to look exactly like the concept. The interior, although different, seems obviously related to the new Bz4X.
And it looks really roomy. At least from the grainy spy shots. This could be about the size of a current Camry inside. While a bit more compact outside.This is great to see Toyota quickly coming up with new EV models. Instead of just teasing us with cool concepts. Now let's see what else is next.

Why does Toyota need all these new nameplates? Are they going to scuttle Camry's and the like? Why won't the next Camry, RAV4 etc. be an electric vehicle.

The original Chinese source claims that this was manufactured by BYD. So this isn't a true Toyota product.

a pure electric car suspected to be co-operated by BYD/Toyota from domestic Internet channels. This car may be the quantity of the bZ SND concept car previously released by Toyota. Production model.

Yeah, this also stood out to me:
So Toyota's name isn't even mentioned in the document inside the car. I'm really questioning Toyota's level of involvement here, especially as BYD has an arsenal of EV tech on their own already.
I hope Toyota's strategy to EV's is better than "leave the Chinese manufacturers to do all the hard work while we rebadge their vehicles."
the picture also shows that the list of vehicle manufacturers of the new car is "BYD Auto Industry Co., Ltd"

Being made in China, I wouldn't touch it with a 10 ft. pole. We have already mortgage our country to China: there's no reason to compound the issue.
