But we are getting way off topic, and I have no desire to write another wall of text and numbers to repeat most of what I've already said.
A Palisade Calligraphy is $55k now with the latest refresh it was $47k prior to the crazy market in the back part of 2021 and 2022. They aren’t getting the same markups that they were. GLE450s here have $10k markups as well. I know my numbers here very well.

The bottom line is, Genesis is a new company and they can’t compete with the Germans with parity on price, whether you want to admit that or not. The G90 fully loaded is $14,000 less than an S500 STARTS.

All the respect in the world for what they’re trying to do, in many ways I think they have replaced Lexus…

Considering Palisades continue to have markups of up to $16K, the markup hell is far from over.

Regardless of how you feel about Genesis, it can't seriously be said that either the 7 or A8 are peers to the S-Class either. The 740i starts at almost $20K less than an S500 while the S8 with a TTV8 barely grazes the price of an S500. The 7 and A8 are both discount options to the S, followed by the G90 and LS.

BMW has always had more difficulty finding success at the top end than Mercedes, just look at the flop of the 8 Series compared to the AMG GT 4 Door.

The date on that article is 2/23/22 lol. That was the middle of the markup madness.

The 7 and A8 are more peers to the S Class than the G90 is. Once they are optioned, the pricing is more similar. A well optioned S8 is $140,000, thats an extremely high option S500 or a moderate option S580.

Oh no, they're still very much capable of going that high. The only difference is now the MSRP has gone up a bit to cushion the blow. It's far from over lol.

Still doesn't hold a candle to the Telluride though, wtf

That's what I said. Closer, but still discounted. Audi and BMW simply cannot price their flagships to match an S-Class like they could an E or C.

What dealers post cars for and what they sell for are different things. I talk to a variety of dealers on a regular basis, and believe me markups are way down from where they were. You will not find Palisades marked up $16,000 over MSRP today. Hyundai is also doubling production of both the Palisade and the Telluride, which will help a lot with supply. If I wanted to pay MSRP for a Palisade right now I could.

Of course, Mercedes is the most desirable and the most expensive. Even the 5 to an E the E is considerably more.

Back to the 7... since I was already looking up EPA numbers, it turns out the i7 loses 3 cubic feet of space in the trunk for the battery but is still able to keep the cabin space the same because of the taller cabin.

It's a 3rd rate brand.
just 2 anecdotes - my 2018 g90 was flawless for 3 years and my 2021 santa fe calligraphy i have now has been flawless too.

i'm not doubting the problems you see which leads to your opinion but h/k/g has millions of satisfied customers and another over 100k in the u.s. each month.

There has never been an M7 in the 50-year history of the M division.

Without question. I would buy one without hesitation.

Yeah, cause apparently it wouldn't be deserving of an M badge/fit the M values.. but somehow a 6000lb SUV is perfect for an M-only model!

the new 7 is SO CLOSE to being a great design! The side profile is perfection, upright with a sharp body line and Hofmeister Kink. Unfortunately the front end absolutely kills it.

There won't be an M7 but there will be an Alpina B7, which might as well be an M7. But it's almost guaranteed to be an EV.

For such a big car the proportions are just right. The rear is pretty good too, especially with the lighting on. I agree the front end doesn't seem to fit the rest of the car. Not good.

The M70 is meant to be a successor to the V12 7 Series, not a full-on M Car where it would have to drop the 0.
