You will think differently when you see them side by side in person. The car sits up higher because the platform needs to be able to accept a battery pack. It's the one major downside of what is otherwise a wonderfully executed convergence platform. The i4 has the same issue.

There is definately an optical illusion at work, their choice to use very slim taillights and to move the license plate to the bumper contributes to making what is already a tall sedan look taller. The optics are all that matter though when talking about styling.

After having seen the car in person, the rear is actually worse that the front IMO

It grew 2inches in W and 3 inches in H. Even the W is more than H, that is about 5.17% vs. 2.67% growth. It's certainly more, but not very much IMO. Could very well be illusion that makes it look taller/worse.

Its not the physical dimensions, it’s the styling in the rear. In person the car doesn’t look oddly tall anywhere but the rear

It's 61 inches tall. That's the same height as the new raised Toyota Crown. 3 inches growth in height is huge.

makes sense. the i4 though doesn't look bad at all imo (i saw one in person).

but yeah, batteries have to go somewhere. i personally don't think a single platform to do both ice and ev sedans makes sense, but i get that there's a big cost savings to the manufacturer.

this review shows the i7 in its full bad *** capability.

150mph on autobahn. no problem.
front seat, back seat riding. rear screen is bonkers!
even looks decent in dark blue with black trim hiding the ugly front mostly.
enjoy...

he goes from 60mph to 100mph in 6 seconds. plenty quick enough.

he says it that way because when you're used to 0-60 or whatever, it's very different response to 60-100.

Ehhh that and EVs are known to not be that great at driving extended at high speeds, we've all discussed this.

You're coming around lol

Dark blue would be my choice too. I would choose the chrome grille, and those wheels.
