I also prefer that handle setup to pop out handles...

I don't know if I would go that far lol. Even among 7 Series, there are some that seriously challenge this.

Just watched the Autogefuel review. That interior is so interesting. More interesting than the EQS. And I think the design of the interior is better than the new S class. Looks like it is super high quality. I do think the seat controls are a classier way of showing the seat controls compared to,the new Mercedes cars.

Not sold on the screen for the long term. But short term it is pretty cool. I like the seats, I think they are fabric. Cinema mode is awesome. Don’t really like the door handles as the EQS/S class pop out are far more classy

literal 3 box design.

yuck.

i wish carmakers would stop sticking lcd screens on the dash like an afterthought. not good design at all.
lcd screens should look more integrated.

Looks great from side and rear, almost Aztek ugly from the front. Huge screen in rear is awesome, makes you wonder why just now someone thought of that with the camera rear view mirrors now.

Sad the V12 is gone but we knew it was coming. Lol I saw some woman coming out of a spa with a 760 the other day while parked making phone calls/ This is sorta crazy maybe to some of you but I discreetly drove close by to it as soon as she got in to hear that V12 start. Pure glorious German turbine V12 start sound. This kind of stuff is what makes us "car people" among other things IMO.

The interior is not the best but the exterior kind of reminds be of RRs high stance/figure. Not horrible but doesn't speak to me how I would like, seems disjointed in a way that the older one wasn't.

BMW just recently told CAR magazine that they expect 70% of their 7-series volume to be sold in China. 70%. This styling inside and out makes complete sense now.

100%

Our lease is up on X3 this year and will probably get the new one 2023MY which thankfully still retains all the traditional BMW styling cues or might upgrade to X5.

This will probably be my last “new” BMW unless the new M2 looks great.

Its incredible how BMW went from having the best styling to the worst in such a short time.

BTW - New Range Rover and Sclass are prime examples of great clean, elegant, timeless styling without crazy gimmicks.

The front, side and rear don’t flow together at all.
The front facia alone has elements from 5 different cars all distorted. Then you have a bland / smooth side to go along with super aggressive front and a droopy/sleepy rear end.

There is no connection to traditional BMW cues at all.

The new S580 is unmistakable as MB. It looks really incredible on the road and i have seen them in various colors now. Kudos to those designers as well as the new SL.

My issue with the interior is its so fussy. All the cut glass and all is kind of garish, IMO. I like the layout of the interior, and in the videos I dont find the screens as objectionable because they do still sit below the top of the dash. Have to see it in person. Im just a "less is more" person when it comes to "bling".

I think the non M Sport (the atomic silver like i7) looks way better in the front than the M Sport, but I feel that way about the outgoing 7 also.

Default New i7 looks horrible?

Styling is very subjective, however the ICEV 7 Series looks far more handsome, and has sold reasonably well, but the new BMW i7 EV looks horrible? Will it sell reasonably well?

Actually, IMO at least, it looks very good on the exterior except from the grille, which in recent-BMW-traditon, is simply too large.

It brings back some memories, BTW, of the 1972 Ford Torino

You are aware the ICE 7-series shares the exact same body right? BMW isn't creating distinct EV models for the mainstream line.
