MotorWeek's Pat Goss Passes
#17
Oh no. What shocking news. RIP Pat Goss.
Over the last couple of years I have noticed he was really over weight and wondered about his general health?
I've also noticed John Davis has aged quite a bit with some weight on also. I hope he trims down for his own general health.
At one point it looked like John was working on passing the show on to his son and it appeared that his son's vision probably was too "edgy." Meaning the background music was rock music, which is fine, except that the music was wayyy too loud that drowned out the reporting. and made it inaudible. At one point I messaged them and asked, is Motorweek a rock concert or a car show?? If it's a car show, let the cars be the star, not the music. It appears it was immediately heeded and I can once again appreciate the automotive reporting & news.

I do wonder where the show will go after John Retires.

John has well-earned his retirement. Not only a super-nice guy (by auto-press-standards), but 42 years of auto-reviews is probably enough. IMO, however, a number of his somewhat-hurried reviews could have been better than they actually were, because the Motorweek show-slots simply do not give him enough time for a true comprehensive review...certainly not like those of Alex Dykes.

Correct on all counts. But I still like to look in on it as it's a change of pace from all of the hyper, attention seeking, trying too hard videos that are out there.

You are kidding right?
When I see Alex, Doug or Soyfan come up with anything remotely close to this video, then you are might be right. Those You Tubers are really lame TBH, none of them would be on a TV program..
Here are some of the sponsors for Motor Week. The #1 auto show
IMO, You Tubers like Demero or Dykes are like those authors that "self" publish their books (that nobody in their right mind would pay to them for the rights), and then they "say" they were published. Motorweek is the real deal.
