I have never driven a Viper but every single person that has or a professional reviewer have said they are a handful. I’m sure the last gen is much more civil and could be driven on the street.
Its not my type of car i guess - a bit too extreme like an Aventador.

I would not have to deal with any issues or maintenance since I’m only looking at new cars. I would prefer NA V8 as the main purpose is to have a raw sounding car.

The E92 M3 is a good option for used but that is another car that you have to mod for it to sound great not to mention finding a clean low mileage one would be over $60k. Going down the used choices there are a ton of options like Ferrari 360, F430, Audi R8, etc. Believe me i have looked into it but extremely hard to find clean cars. A lot of these cars have 5+ owners.

Only thing holding me back from the Mustang Mach-1 is that the next generation Mustang is due soon and Ford probably won't kill the N/A V8 + Manual just yet.
S650 has been delayed and is slated for production in March 2023. I assume it will be 2024MY.
Too many unknowns with the new Mustang and im sure it will be less raw and filled with more tech - opposite of what i want. Also the “special” versions like Mach 1, Boss, Shelby will take some time to come out. V8 might be hybrid or mild hybrid and also will probably have EV version.

Man that is such a beautiful color. That and the V10. Too bad I would constantly be on edge for what major repair would be lurking around the corner.

I think the E60 M5 and M6 with the V10 and manual will rise in value. They sound incredible with an exhaust but the reliability issues and quirky styling have prevented them from being really desirable. I would take the M6.

I did not like that car with a manual. The SMG transmission suited it far better imo.

Yeah I read that the SMG was geared perfectly for the V10 but it sucked in the I6 M3.

Uh yeah, those V10 motors will fail at 60-80k. Can't be too impressed by a V10 if it can't even make it to 100k.

That V10 was just a V8 with two additional cylinders slapped on. Not the best engineered motor, and the car styling was ugly.

My vote from your list...LC500. It sounds amazing, drives amazing, is just an amazing car. It will last you forever, and it will be collectors item. If I wasn't going a different direction automotive wise, this or the IS500 would be my choice of car

Its actually the opposite.
The S85 V10 was developed first for M5/M6.

The S65 V8 was a derivative of the S85 with most of the same components but 2 less cylinders and put in the E9x M3 back in 2007. It has proved to be more reliable than the V10 but has many issues like rod bearings, throttle actuators, oil leaks etc. The engine oil in these cars needs to be properly warmed up before any hard driving. It’s still more reliable than the S54 inline 6 from E46 M3 with all the Vanos crap.

Considering how often they like to grenade themselves, fully operational E60 M5s should be getting pretty rare these days. Not sure how will have much effect on resale values.

Could be, but the S85 must have been derived from another V8, because it is a 90 degree engine. Ideally a V10 motor must be designed as 72 degree.

Bearings are part of regularly scheduled maintenance lol!

The SMG pump is another major issue since it will fail and unless you are good at replacing it it can become a massive recurring cost.
