The local Mitsubishi dealership here refuses to sell cars with markup, so they're enjoying some well-deserved success. I see new Outlanders pretty frequently and it's a surprisingly handsome SUV.

Yep.....honesty is its own best reward.

This is the latest 2022 Outlander. I agree it's generally nice-looking except for the (IMO) awkward front-end styling and the E-shift lever on the console.

That thing looks terribly cramped inside. I also love the tacked on screen. Such a classy design.

Two things. First, tacked-on screens are a fact of life with many automakers these days. Even luxury vehicles, as from Lincoln and Lexus, use them. GM has properly integrated them into the dash for years, but there are some signs that even they might be cashing in on that cost-cutting trend now.

Second, while I agree that a number of crossovers are trying to shoehorn three seat-rows into vehicles designed and intended for two rows, one cannot always judge interior volume, or even seat-clearance, by simple images or photos alone. Nothing beats an actual in-person examination or review.

It's actually not bad. One of my customers is 6'4" and has one he just bought and it fits him well, his other car is a RAV4 hybrid

The Rogue, which shares a lot with this, is better looking, in my opinion.

GM is just as bad, Blazer, Corvette, Tahoe/Suburban, Yukon/XL, CT4, CT5 they all have tacked on screens

It’s interesting, since they made the New River Gorge a national park, there is more wealth there than you would think. You see a lot of new developments and luxury cars. Although, there’s a wide disparity between the haves and the have nots.

Most GM products, until very recently, did not. That's one reason why I liked them. The models you mentioned are all very recent introductions or redesigns. And the new 2Gen GEM platform Buick Encore also has a tacked-on screen, but we're not going to get that model in the U.S...it's Chinese-market only. The Encore GX does it correctly......in the dash, not on it.

I have always liked this vehicle. It does have Hyundai headlights, it looks like a Nisan interior. I like it. 3rd row looks useless

It's a runaway success for Mitsubishi. They can't build them fast enough.

My first and last exposure to Mitsubishi was as a kid back around '90 with a '84 Mitsubishi Cordia Turbo 5 speed

This thing used oil like a 2-stroke motor..... I figure one of the valve guide seals was completely gone as we are talking a quart every 150 miles of oil and a new spark plug on cylinder 3 every 1k miles.

It would leave James Bond smoke trails if idling more than 5 minutes. It was a car I learned a lot from though and while unreliable was fun while I had it... all 116HP :-)

It had a dual injector TBI system ... I don't know their motors other than it was a 1.8L not used in domestic Chrysler product (perhaps it was some 1.6L bored out version)... think the turbo was a Garrett version but no water cooled so had to let it cool down before shutting off.

It also had a version of the Mitsubishi SuperShift but just one stick. Gear 1-4 was the low speed of the SS... 5th gear was vacuum actuated and was the high or economy gear of the 4 speed Super Shift...if that makes sense...

I will clarify if that doesn't make sense to everyone...

How often does one fix a 5 speed manual with a fuse? It was out when I got it... 5th was same gear ratio as 4th... if that system malfunctioned

First exposure to an included FSM that owners threw in.. they were tired of throwing money into it. 5th gear fixed with a fuse.
