I wouldn't worry about the engine dying on uphills with the integrated water/oil heat exchanger, variable oil & water pump and all that. I WOULD worry about the precedent they're setting by not offering, say, the 3.5l v6 hybrid option that they've had since... like 2008 or so? Like c'mon, it won't be operating outside its efficient BSFC range very often with how much this vehicle typically weights when laden.

I wonder how much cheaper the price of the Carnival and Pacifica has to be for me to seriously consider it. The fire risks hold me back.

What makes the Pacifica Hybrid nice is the V6 gives it a smoothness that the Sienna Hybrid lacks. The Pacifica Hybrid is heavier and only has 15 more horsepower than the Sienna, but it gets a pass because of the smoothness.

That would be the V6 hybrid in my Highlander.
28 mpg and 306 hp.

The 2GR-FXE in the previous model Highlander Hybrid is super smooth and one of the reasons why we chose it. I am referring to the Sienna Hybrid, with the 4 cylinder. That setup is just not as smooth as a good V6.

Had my daughter in 2000 and my son in 2003 when I was still in my 30's. I regret not having more kids, but I have a boy and girl so I'm happy! My daughter is about to get her bachelors in Psychology from UC Irvine, my son is in his first year in college...they have costed me a fortune, hopefully they will pay it all back by taking care of us in our old age like we are doing with our father right now. I've always tried my best to teach them to think about others above themselves
