I don't care what anyone says, I love Camry's. They are so boringly practical. Even my daughter who drives my 2006 (nearly 180K) won't give it up for a newer car

I had a Japanese built 1992 v6 se 5 speed that I traded in on my first Lexus GS400. Still wish I’d kept it, was such a great car.

He's already got this in his funny picture folder I'm sure lol
The 5th gen was my favorite but I'm biased. I had a 2005 for 10 years that had no issues, until I drove a little too fast in the snow one day in 2019 and wrecked it. I was considering replacing it at that point, so I likely wouldn't have it at this point anyways but it was great for all those years. I felt it had a lot of life left at 240k miles.
Weren't the 92-96 models built extra strong because of the LS? I read something about it not long ago. The way they built the LS trickled down to the Camry, and as a result it was more of a luxury car than its competitors.

Painted for '95 and '96, pretty sure. The painted back was one of a few subtle cost cuts (I think thinner fiberboard in the trunk was another) that telegraphed the deteriorating dollar-yen relationship and previewed the massive cost cutting throughout the next-generation '97.

Great cars and rare but the GS400 is quite the step up. I had a 1993 V6 that I ended up giving to a family member they drove it into the ground then sold it. This was in 2011.
Sorta, the car was built as an ES300 first then the platform was also used for the Camry. 4th gen Camry (the next one) was not nearly as good even though Toyota claimed all kinds of improvements.

Friend of mine had a 92. Rode in it years ago, probably in 12 and the transmission was having issues. Went for a ride in it early last year and it still had issues, but was running. Had almost 400k miles at that time. These things never die lol
