What will happen to the price of gas when EVs take over?

I agree with you that, by then, we will probably still see some V8s in the heavy-duty Silverado 3500s and the larger 4500/5500/6500 commercial Chevy trucks, but they will probably be phased out of the common everyday 1500 series. You can probably forget V8s for future Corvettes and Camaros (if the Camaro itself is not dropped)...they are going the route of V6 turbos. So, yes, I think you'll win, but by a technicality more than anything else.

Some people will not be forced, others will comply and just accept whatever is sent their way. It is what it is at this point.

Because everyone is trying to force me to. EVs are fine, just stop shoving them down my throat. I don't want one, many others don't either. I like the sound of an engine and other ICE attributes, just more my cup of tea. An EV would be great for my personal around town errands but I don't want one.

I think that gas will get cheaper, it's not like we are going to dial back production EVER for petroleum so I am sure that gas will always be able to be bought since it's a natural product of the overall refining process and if demand dips it will get cheap. We will need more and more capacity since ALL modern tech requires a lot of compounds you only get from one place.....oil.

So now in addition to the 60-70 grand EV we have to go out and purchase, along with public charging stations that are often broken in one way or another, to ensure we are able to charge our cars and get to work in the morning, we need to spend thousands of dollars for solar panels?

And you don’t have to be a rocket scientist to know that EVs are the future. Every carmaker has said they have already stopped all ICE development. What is the alternative future? Like it or not, this is happening. It will all work out fine.
Its not going to happen tomorrow, but we are clearly in the last generation of ICE for most vehicle models, the carmakers themselves have said that. So…10 years or so from now yes, the vast majority of new vehicles for sale, especially in the luxury space will be EVs.

Unless you drove 350 miles the previous day, then you don’t have an issue. And “if the electric grid goes down” you can’t pump gas either, gas pumps are electric.

Why just full-BEVs and nothing else? Why not have an extended-range Hybrid option (with a small gas engine to recharge the battery) for those who do not, snd will not, have access to plug-in charging? Extended-range Hybrids use very little gas (just enough to charge the battery when needed and to keep the engine itself lubed and warm ), and would only cause very minimal pollution.

It'd be nice to go to a store that sells batteries with a variety of ranges. Maybe a 300 mile range pack for $10 or a 200 mile one for $7.50. You pop the hood, take the battery out and put the new one in. That would eliminate the problem of not having access to a charging station.
To provide incentives to not just throw away the battery, you could get a discount for purchasing a battery by returning the old one.
Maybe this will happen but probably not for at least 20 years.
EDIT: forgot that car batteries are massive. Probably not a good idea lol

How much denial and myth has propagated in this thread alone. Its hilarious reading the absurdity of it all. A simple Google search on any of those topics would reveal the information and data on the subject but people just like to propagate many stupid myths about EVs. Yes they are cleaner. Yes passenger cars are dirty and constitute the PLURALITY of transportation emissions. Yes, its verifiable fact that Tesla is highly profitable per their government mandated audits and reports. No, EVs don't lose 40% of range when its cold. Yes, the US is the 2nd largest polluter on the planet. EVs have nothing to do with gas prices at the moment. Most people that buy EVs are not tree huggers. Yes, EV sales are accelerating and only being slowed down by battery production. Yes, they will absolutely take over the passenger car transportation over time given the momentum and the regulations. BTW, if you are so worried about an outage, just buy a generator and have backup gas to power your EV...not that hard.
