On paper, it doesn't, and a true -back-to-back test may change my opinion, but i think Lexus is trying to make these DIRECT4 rear axles make their FWD vehicles feel more like a quattro in terms of torque distribution and handling.
RX uses the stem E-axle as the bZ4X?
Did your test drive have the rear wheel steering option?

1) I think so. Or if now, they're both 80 kWh e-axles, although I think Lexus' tuning will be different --
At the rear, an 80-kW eAxle consisting of an inverter and motor provides near-instantaneous power to the rear wheels. Together with a high-output, low-resistance nickel-metal hydride battery, the system produces 366 hp and 406 lb.-ft. of torque total. A DIRECT4 all-wheel drive system orchestrates a seamless, direct application of drive force between the front and rear axles in milliseconds, thus improving handling, controllability, and feel. Body movement is also minimized for more pleasant ride comfort.
2) Yes, the 500h(s) we drove all had rear steer. Video coming out in the next hour or so. I didn't feel it doing u-turns, but my driving-partner and I thought we could feel it in hard cornering.
If you know anyone who owns an Audi - you would never cross shop to one if you planned on doing a lot of miles with it. Those DFI 2.0T engines gunk up with carbon deposits early in their lifespans. VW/Audi cooling systems are weak - water pumps, hoses. And to replace a water pump, the entire nose of the car has to be removed. I don't care how nice their interiors are. OK for a 3 year lease, that's about it.

I know 3 people with Audis over 100k miles...have never had problems.
I genuinely don't understand how Lexus is naming their vehicles now... although i suppose it's more about pricing and dynamics than drivetrain power or displacement
Def interesting way of naming considering they have other two 500h. One could buy one of these and feel content driving next to Bit.

They fixed the carbon issue with the 2.0t motors early last decade (see B8.5 A4/A5/q5). Water pumps were covered under a recall. In the case of the A4/A5/Q5 they were actually very reliable in the middle of the last decade, so much so that it even showed up in their Consumer Reports ratings. Nowadays infotainment issues have dented their reliability ratings though.

True, about 10 years ago, my brother in law had an Audi Q5 2.0L Turbo, and he had to replace the water pump three times under warranty; he eventually traded in for a BMW X5.
Just me, but I think it is more important to ride smoothly and quietly like Benz GLE.
The 0-60 and the handling is the icing on top of the cake, because at least 90% of drivers will not full throttle nor dump midsize high riding wagon into corners.
The GLE is more than just smoothly and quietly. If it's not the feminine look (in my view), I would get it over the X5 or any in the segment.

LCI doesn't happen until 2024 model or at least not on 2023. The big things people don't like about the incoming change are the display, buttonless and gear selector being implemented on the new X7.
