Back shot of the 500h:

It seems the MagX rumors were true. V6 is totally dead, obviously.

2023 Lexus RX Lineup To Get Three Hybrid Powertrains: Report

Lexus is bound to give its RX lineup a major revamp in terms of powertrain options. That's if we're to believe the rumors from two Japanese sources, Creative311 and Magazine X.According to the two publications, the 2023 Lexus RX will get a different powertrain lineup to go with its next-generation model. including a new plug-in hybrid option. The all-new RX is set to be revealed this year.

First off, Lexus will reportedly replace the naturally aspirated 3.5-liter V6 with a turbocharged 2.4-liter gasoline mill, likely the same one found on the new Lexus NX. This force-inducted four-banger makes 275 horsepower (205 kilowatts) and 317 pound-feet (430 Newton-meters) in the NX350.

The hybrid powertrains in the RX lineup will come in three flavors, according to the report. A new RX500h range-topper is said to be replacing the current RX450h. It will be a PHEV, pairing the turbocharged 2.4-liter engine with an electric motor.

An RX450h+ will follow in the range, which will use a normally aspirated 2.5-liter power plant and an electric motor, powered by a lithium-ion battery. The base hybrid is said to be called the RX350h, in the same vein as the new NX350h. It will also be powered by a 2.5-liter mill and an electric motor.

Both publications failed to provide output and range numbers to go with the revamped powertrain lineup.

THIS IS GONNA LOOK SO GOOD!!
I'm actually really excited.. they're evolving the current gen RX which has a lot of fussy overstyled details to a smoother and slightly sportier body. I think this is going to be the sportiest and best looking RX ever. And they're gonna get rid of that horrible A-Pillar fake window extension which screams economy car to me.

I wonder if they'll adapt the 3.4tt for transverse use. They did say they want to expand FSP. An RX550 FSP would be great with the 3.4tt.

I still see the extra a-pillar triangle window. What are you basing your observation on?
I was hoping Lexus would ditch the hearse "S-curve" between the rear pillars, but it looks like it's here again.

The smooth lines look really good, I like what they did to the NX, and I love the new shapes and lines in the refresh IS...

From their official darkened teaser in their reveal a few months back, you could see no more A-Pillar fake window extension! The window ends at the doorline!

Might as well wish for a V12 in the LS while you're at it... if they wanted more power they'll just give it a bigger electric motor like the RX500.

I like what I see so far. Looks like it will be an evolution from the current design, much like 1NX to 2NX.

I would assume the RX500h, with PHEV and a turbo four should be putting out something between 350 and 400 hp.

I would like to be wrong, but I don't think the 500h will be a plugin. Lexus's naming convention would make it an RX500h+ if it were PHEV. Without the +, it would mean it's the regular hybrid like the current 450h, but with a Turbo 4-banger instead of the V6.

i agree it’s amazing how subtle design tweaks make a big difference. I saw a red IS 350 few days ago and it looked stunning. I am excited to see this new RX !

Well who’s going to put money into this?

lc500h = 3.5l v6 Hybrid
ls500h = 3.5l v6 hybrid
rx500h = 3.5l v6 Hybrid

Yes, this goes against all rumours.

Agree 100%, The new NX is worlds better looking both exterior and interior and the new IS looks great. I saw a new atomic silver IS the other day and did not even know what model it was.
