Here is the color of my mom and dad's car. Sierra Gold/Adobe Beige. I kept it clean and in return I got additional drive time. Good times.

I miss the white wall tires sometimes.

Still thinking there's some newer cars that could still pull it off.

IMHO (and that of many others) the '57 was the best-looking of the bunch.
I’ve always thought the 49-52 Chevys were essentially the same, the 53-54s the same, the 55-56s the same, but the 57 and 58s were stand alone one year models. Then the 59-60s were the same then 61-64s again, the same, then 65-66s the same again.

No. The 55-57 were the same platform....the 58 was a major redesign. Also got a new trim level...the Impala. The 57 looked a little different because they restyled the front end and rear fins, but the body shell was the same.

A "gem" in concept, maybe. But, my brother bought the first model year and had a lot of trouble with it. I drove it and found plenty of turbo lag and a weird anomaly with wheel hop, accelerating out of tight corners. It seemed unrefined at best!
