Like everything else, with time styles change. I'm sure there will be folks 30-40 years from now looking at today's vehicles wondering what were we thinking. Others will look at them as pieces of art, it's all in perception and personal preference.

Nope, I think that's a '57....there was a mild restyling that year for all of the big GM cars.

I think you’re right. What are these? On each rear fender like period correct twin antennaes.

I had one of these as a company car when they first came out. Pretty forgettable overall except for the aerodynamic styling which was new and unique at the time. For a while it got a lot of attention.

That's a good question. It looks like a mirror, but I have no idea why one would mount it on the rear fender.

Anyone else want to take a stab?

Ford Taurus. It caused a sensation in 1985-86 when it first debuted....it revolutionized sedan styling and packaging at the time, and was considered a "Jellybean" design by the standards of the time, although it was actually quite boxy compared to today's extreme coupe-like Humpback-whale sedan rooflines. It sold very well for a number of years, and competed with the Honda Accord and Toyota Camry for first-place in American-market sedan sales.

More than likely they’re not OEM, like the twin air horns on the hood.

Twin airhorns? Aren't those rear-view mirrors on the hood?

Far side of the hood, in front of the mirror.

I'm no fan of 40's or 50's design(too round for me), but the 60's produced some iconic designs. I'm no old timer, I'm only 34.

I grew up with those cars in high school....and have written about them in a number of Car Chat threads.

Although they got the lion's share of the attention back then, the 60s weren't just about muscle cars. Some fantastic big American luxury sedans/coupes were also produced back then.
