I thought slapping an AMG badge on a car was cheesy but this takes the cake! Haha

right next to what? i thought we're talking about the silver frankenstein car with mb headlights.
i said impala because it's an often used old junk platform for much modification.
just because it has some kind of open 'bed' at the back doesn't mean it used an el camino. i figured impala, bolt on the mb front/rear change the trunk lid for some kind of cover, and there you go.
regardless, it's an abomination.

I recognize almost all of them in the first 5-6 rows....I grew up with those cars...and learned to drive on some of them. VW Karman Ghia, a number of Beetles, Several different Ford Fairlanes, Buick Skylark, Ford Galaxies/LTD, VW Microbus, Plymouth Valiant/Dodge Lancer, Chevy Bel-Air/Impala, Camaro, Chevelle, Mustang, Olds Delmont/Delta 88, and numerous others.

SUVs were not a significant factor in the American market back then. The only ones I can remember seeing were the International Scout and Travelall, and the Jeep Wagoneer. Foreign-brand SUVs, for all intents and purposes, did not exist aside apart from a very few Toyota Land Cruisers...and the first Range Rover did not come along until 1970. There were a few Ford Broncos and Chevy Blazers and an occasional Dodge Ramcharger, but even they did not sell in significant numbers. That all changed in 1984 when the Jeep Cherokee was introduced, and in 1990 when the Ford Explorer hit the scene......that's when the SUV market in the U.S. really began to take off.
