I dropped by Griot’s Garage this morning as I was passing nearby (it’s near the junction of I-5 and WA SR-16, in the old Tacoma Coca Cola bottling plant). They have an impressive rotating super car collection on display most of the time.
It’s ~90 e30 Touring, that has been converted to a 2-door config (custom). They then dropped a highly modified M60 V8 and six speed in it, out of a ‘95 540i/6. They then converted the back seat with a pressurized water system, and use it as a portable car wash for the show cars at SEMA events and such. It and an old F-1 car and 996 were all that were in the showroom as much of the collection was on the road at a show right now.
I used to drive BMWs back then and found it pretty amusing. I had a succesion of 2002’s, 320i, 535is, etc. when I was younger.

A sunny Sunday in Snoqualmie, WA is always good for car spotting. Plenty of deets to ID it, but it’s a good one.

One of the most important and influential cars in post-war America.
New V8 engine in a smaller body, some call it the first “muscle car.” It owned the Nascar Circuit in the early years, made Junior Johnson famous, moved a lot of moonshine. Also inspired the first “rock and roll” hit song - “Rocket 88.”
Quite a record of achievement. This was an immaculate restoration - ‘50 convertible.

My first car was a 1950 coupe that I bought from my sister's boyfriend. It had seen better days, but it was cheap. Good memories though. Thanks for the pictures.

I love those ol Oldsmobiles. My Pop bought a 53 like this one and I remember our 55 Coupe too. 324ci V8 with a four barrel carb and the famous hydramatic tranny. This 56 needs a dentist.
