It’s a Dacia Duster (I know as my sister is on her second), a Romanian brand, now owned by Renault. They build very good value cars using Renault tech and have good customer feedback. Any fans of Top Gear will know of James May’s love of the Dacia Sandero.

The Duster name, BTW, was formerly used by Plymouth, part of Chrysler, now under ownership of FCA, so I'll assume that Dacia bought the rights to that name from FCA.

Trademarks and Copyrights are registered on a per-country basis. I don't think Plymouth was doing much exporting in 1970, so they may not have bothered to Trademark the name anywhere other than the US. Since Dacia doesn't sell anything in the US, there was likely no barrier to them using the name.
