Sorta, I can see the resemblance. But not near the motor of the GTO nor distinctive split grille. This was its cousin....

Close. Same era, but Stratus was a 4-door.

Dodge Avenger, unsure if that is a body kit or not. That amphibious car, I've seen it before but can't remember the specifics.

You're right, those are 1st gen (1995-2000), which was called Avenger. Tough to tell at a glance with the bodykits. The 2nd gen (2001-2006) was renamed Stratus to match the sedan.

As I recall, that version of the Avenger was actually done on a Mitsubishi platform, Mitsubishi designed. Its interior had strong Mitsubishi-overtones.

Very close. They are all on Chrysler's D platform, which went through various version and revisions, and as you correctly point out, was originally derived from the Mitsubishi Galant. The 1st gen Sebring/Avenger were on a version of D referred to as FJ. The contemporary 2nd gen Eclipse/Talon were on a version of D called PJ (1st gen Eclipse/Laser/Talon were on BD, another variant). These were combined for the 2nd gen Sebring/Stratus coupe and 3rd gen Eclipse, on the ST-22 platform, the final derivative of D.

Correct....a 1955 Caribbean convertible.

i just posted a video-review in Car Chat, BTW (not my own) of a 1955 Packard Patrician, more or less the sedan-equivalent of the Caribbean. Packard reviews are difficult to find.

When I was real young a man on our block had a 1955 Packard and I was fascinated by it. It was bigger than most of the other cars around and, had a two-tone paint job!
