My sister had the US version of that - a Pontiac LeMans. I think hers was about a 92 model year or so (could be off a bit). I know it was sold elsewhere as an Opel Kadett. Pretty sure there was a Vauxhaull version, as well as maybe a Daewoo one, but I don't remember what they were called.

Yeah, Mk 2 Vauxhall Astra in the UK, Opel Kadett on the Continent. I had one for a bit in the late 80s and it was pretty good. It ended up being recycled as a Daewoo Nexia in later years as GM Korea joint venture.

Thanks. When I lived in France, I remember it as the Opel Kadett. I struggled to remember what else it was called.

I will honestly say, my sister's here in the US was a remarkably good car, despite very poor ratings. She had it a long time and it served her very well. I drove it quite a bit too and really enjoyed it.

This vehicle was 'Explorering" long before the Ford Explorer came along and grabbed that share of the market.

They were called Travelalls as I recall. Some called them Carryalls but their official name was Travelall I believe.

This color reminds me of the Green **** carpeting people pur in their houses that was popular in the 70's. Haha

And, I remember the green appliances and sinks too too.

I was just watching Mecum auctions, and they had a '68 GTO on the block in a green color, which the announcers said was the most popular color that year - 1/3 of all GTO sales.

Yes, you got it.

The Scout was a smaller version of this platform.

The original Scouts like the early Broncos are commanding high prices these days.

You guys are good .....considering that most of you are quite a bit younger than I am, and/or weren't around for a number of the vehicles I post.

I, in turn, have some problems trying to keep up with all the new BEVs being introduced today.

How do you know how old we are? I’ll be 74 next April. Are you older?

Yes, I'm aware there are a few Boomers in Car Chat (I'm one of them), but most are much younger.
