What is natural is a seating motion where your seat height is about where your hip is when you are standing...which better describes the seating position of my Pacifica or a crossover. Older BOF vehicles were not that tall.

To add to the large BOF SUV discussion, back at work today in the S560, yeah no way I could go from this to a big BOF SUV for a DD lol. If I make that move it would have to be to something like a RR or a GLS or something like that.

As a DD, a Suburban is way overkill. Too lumbering, filling it up all the time, the weight of the vehicle, parking here and there....it really takes a toll. As complementary vehicle, they are great. This is most for all body on frame vehicles.

If you step down to get out, you have to climb up to get in. For me (and I have back issues too) sliding down like that is not good for my back because it puts my pelvis at an angle. For me to climb in and out of the Suburban was like climbing stairs, right foot on the running board, left foot on the floorboard, left hand on the wheel and hoist myself up. To get out, I turned to the left, put both feet on the running board then stepped down to the ground. No way to do that in any sort of a natural motion.

Yeah if I could afford and justify an $80,000 vehicle just for road trips, then it would be a great option for that!

Just sounds like we are opposite lol. Both Yukon and LX and most of these BOF SUVS have tons of grab handles, 2 for each side in the front in mine. My mom never remembers that when she gets into my truck bc she has a bad knee, there are 2 there for her strategically placed. Getting in and out of LS vs LX is massively different, much easier with the truck. But that's just me. Crossovers like her Enclave are the perfect height off the ground to get into, another advantage of them over BOF. I am gonna pay close attention to a new one of these, driving height and all next time I'm next to one.
Your LX also has a suspension that lowers itself when you park to make it easier to get in and out. This Suburban didnt have that, but an Escalade would which would help a lot.

And I don't like using my seat as a hoist to get out, and I just slide right out of trucks lol. It just sounds like we are polar 100% opposites on this and for some reason it's sort of amusing.
Also height hasn't changed (I'm surprised) from my Yukon vs a new one, just a couple of tenths.. LX570 is lower than them by about an inch. But this is just overall height vs step-in.

Like I said, your trucks are lower than this. The overall height is similar but the step in height is a lot higher. The 4 of us spent all week *****ing about climbing in and out of that Suburban lol. In fact my wife said "if we had something like this, your mother would never be able to get into it" and she was right. I have driven a bunch of LXs and your generation Yukon/Tahoes and never even needed to use a running board to get in or out.

I have never been using the easy in and out until now, and I've had the truck a year and a half. IDK what I've been thinking, not using it, with these back issues. It helps with ingress and egress.

BTW I just priced one spec'ed the way the one I had was spec'ed, $79,000 with no sunroof, no front or surround view cameras, no parking sensors, no dynamic cruise control. Insane.

Well the timing here was sure convenient.
Check out this video comparing your gen Suburban and the latest gen. You can clearly see the difference in height I’m talking about, and they talk about the same differences. That one has air suspension, and in that OR height that looks very similar in height to how the one I had on steel springs sat. Watch how Andre climbs up into the new one at 17:43.

GM trucks are huge like you said lol, I was next to one in a school lane today. The front end is very, very high up even if overall height vs previous gens is a wash. Seating position doesn't seem that noticeably higher, however.
