Correct. It was actually a touch under $200/pp, but since this was in 2000, I adjusted to today's dollars. Definitely not an everyday meal, but it was our engagement "party" so unfortunate circumstances excepted, a worthwhile expense.

Yeah they scratched my GS up so bad, even with the liquid platinum paint it looked like it had been through an offroad brush run. It was ridiculous, you could even see it in the shade.

The price isn't that insane, even around here a good appetizer/steak/dessert/wine meal from one of the upper tier places is $200 or so. Add on something special or a few more drinks and you are there

Lets keep it on cars...
Dropped the S560 off for service today and I have another GLC300 as a loaner, I really like this thing...
$640 for the $30k A Service. Not bad IMO.

I noticed the service at Hennessy Lexus for 15k was so expensive, even my service advisor recommended I didn't do it. I just did an oil change and alignment, which were about $211 combined. Not bad.

They just do the service thats recommended in the manual at this dealer. I'm interested to see if they come back and say it needs brakes.

Strangely, I never got the alignment sheet or the usual breakdown of those inspected wear items... I should probably get that stuff. The local Lexus meetup group are going to Cherohala Skyway soon, so wanted to make sure my brakes were up to task for that drive!

Since the A service is just an oil change and multipoint inspection, that seems pretty steep. OE oil is about $13/quart, and the OE filter about $30. Since the parts cost is about $160, I would have expected this service to be maybe $225-250. Did they soak you for a bunch of extras that are not part of the Mercedes-specified service? Edit: I see you answered this already.
I ask because a friend of mine just got charged almost a grand for the 20k service on his M5, even though maintenance is included under warranty. They hit him with: throttle body fuel injector service, $429, ethanol corrosion inhibitor, $74, engine performance service $183, plus alignment for $260. He got them to knock off the charge for the alignment, but essentially got stuck paying $700 for a couple of bottles of not-manufacturer-recommended snake oil.

"Inspections" are a free component of service at every dealer, because that's how they sell you brakes, or ABC fluid (at $80/Liter!) and the like.

Believe me, I get it. Its a racket lol. But, its easy.
Service A:
The front and rear pads are to 4mm, they recommended replacement. $1,200 for new pads front and rear which for a luxury car dealer isn't horrible. I declined, I'm going to do some research into other brake options because the OEM ones dust so badly...
Here's the video they sent me:
Service A:
- Mercedes-Benz Synthetic Motor Oil Replacement
- Oil filter replacement
- All fluid level checks and corrections are dependent on factory-recommended service intervals for your vehicle’s year and model.
- Tire inflation check and correction
- Brake component inspection
- Reset maintenance counter
