IMO, Panamera, by far.

911 is a number linked to telephone-emergencies.....and to the 9-11 attack on the Pentagon and World Trade Center.

Totally different cars. The Panamera is still obscenely fast but it's more of a S-class/LS type experience with high features, room, silence, and fancy trim and tech.

The 911 is a supercar that you can easily daily drive and is insanely responsive, the final word in "GT" type cars and technically supreme.

I firmly prefer the Panamera since for me if I have a two door it simply must be front engine with at least 1000hp.

Right, and I don't want all that track stuff that would be useless to me. If I were spending big bucks I would want my 911 to be decked out with luxury stuff, not track stuff. And a manual.

Luxury and a manual.
That could be fun.

Then get an S and option it up. The base doesn't have the luxury stuff either. But with the exception of the lightening, none of that is "track stuff". It's just there to make a more engaging drive. Which is typically what people want when they option a manual. If you just want to putter around while shifting your own gears, I'll agree the 911 probably isn't your jam.

I've owned an IS-350, IS-F, and two RC-Fs, the latter of which was fully modded (intake, headers, exhaust, RR Racing chip, etc.). I built and recently had delivered a 2022 911 GTS, I LOVE Lexus (also have a 2022 GX), but the 911 is on a whole other level. A "weapon" is the best way to describe it.

The Carrera T is a perfect package for people who just want an incredible sports car.

911, no question. A 911 is one of the great cars, the Panamera is a great sedan but if it disappeared tomorrow nobody would care, the 911 is a fixture in the Automotive world.

Congratulations!

One of my agents has a 911 cab, I think its a 2021, I took her to go pick it up at the dealer. Its amazing. I'm not a sports car person, but at some point in my life I will own a 911.

Thanks SW17LS! I wasn't a Porsche fan until I got my 911. I'm now addicted, and am ordering a Turbo S

Lucid could be in some trouble. Orders are down, cancellations increasing. They've come up with a process to try and "save" cancellations. https://www.businessinsider.com/luci...hicles-2022-12

I've started to see a few Lucids around. Its hard for a customer to just wait forever for a product they don't know if they are ever going to get. I have noticed a lot of people also order multiple cars, so they may order a Plaid, a Lucid, and an EQS and then take whatever comes in first and cancel the others...

Hi jrmckinley, thank you for dropping the link.
This may be worthy of it's own thread if there is enough interest maybe.
What ya'll think?

I agree with you. I think the same is true for Rivian. Great looking product, but when it takes 12+ months to get one, you're dealing with a very narrow group of people who will wait with you that long. Too many other things can come up - as they say in my line of work (sales)... "Time kills all deals."

And you have no reason to expect that it will ACTUALLY be delivered in that timeframe, so its like you wait an open ended period of time

The magic to the 911 is that it does GT and sport ultra well at the same time, supercar killer and soft daily all in one package. It's quite amazing and they have upgrade paths to become absolutely insane, a 1200hp 997 is one of the fastest cars I've been around.

I may own one at some point but they just never have been a car that does it for me....perhaps a LS swapped one would but I've never driven one.
