‘That’s pretty cool. Surprised the drive mode defaults

Toyota doesn’t do that.

I'll never know, lol. As far as I'm concerned another 200 will be in our future eventually. Probably one of the last ones.

Yeah they do. EPA regulations require that the car be tested in the least efficient mode that can default on startup. My GS and LS460s when in sport mode would always default back to normal mode at the next start.

What I want it to do is default to individual where I have the engine set to sport and the steering and suspension set to comfort. It’s way more responsive that way, but I still have the soft ride and light steering

All the new ones do, every carmaker does it that way for that reason. My old ones with the ECT PWR mode would leave that as default.

Euro cars are quite nice in the sense that they are EASY to customize and modify unlike Lexus.....I did a bunch of coding changes like that to both my A8s. I set the temp of the heated wheel higher, heated seat step down removal, massage behavior, headlight behavior, door behavior, adding oil temp and pressure readout, and warning chimes removal etc.

With VAG cars it's really simple to do as long as you know the values.

Yeah they do. All the new ones default to the softest modes and it's annoying since they also turn all assists back on.

I want things left where I set them. These cars allow me to make than happen and the older Lexus cars like my 07 also allow you to leave things where you want them and also fully defeat traction/stability control

I just drove a TNGA Toyota for two months. It stayed in ECO mode the entire time. Never defaulted back to normal.

Oh sure, it will default to Eco, it won't default to a mode that is LESS efficient than normal. It wont default to Sport.

‘Yes. So you can’t leave it in Sport. But you can leave it in ECO and it won’t default to normal

If the carmaker allowed it to default to Sport they would have to measure the fuel economy in Sport.
