That turned aluminum is really nice. I thought I was looking at a Bentley for a moment.

Thanks, also one of my favorite things about the car. They are Bentley level quality, or close. Contender for GOAT gauges easily. Classic MB gauges are the **** to begin with.

One of these days I'm gonna grive an A8.

I saw an A7 yesterday and I didn't know the A7 was an SUV, just happened to be driving next to me.

Nice. It's always interesting to see what manufacturers can do with exotic materials like aluminum and expensive wood. That's why I think the big screens are a cop out nowadays.

But from the pics you linked, the 02 Acura CLs is on par with a benz in terms of interior lol.

It's not. It's a 4-door "coupe" like the Mercedes CLS. The Q7 is an SUV.

A funny experience at Porsche dealer. So yesterday my wife and I went to have a closer look at a Macan. While walking to show us the car, the salesman asks me "What do you like about Porsche?". I answered that Porsche has the best reputation among German manufacturers for quality and reliability. The salesman answers "Yes, we are right there, only behind Lexus". And than he sees my wife's NX 350h which was parked right next to the Macan.
BTW, the Macan is a delightful little SUV. The engine sound and interior fit-and-finish are fantastic. And I like that the interior design is sporty and elegant, not flashy and full of "bling" like Merc and BMW. In the past Merc and BMW had classy interiors, now they look like something that belongs in a cheap Las Vegas casino.

A8 is a nice car, they ride great and and well built. The current D5 model is just kinda plain and boring.

They can do both.

Its actually not. That generation CL and TL are some of my favorite cars, but all that "wood" is plastic fake wood, they materials in that car while okay are not Lexus grade and certainly not Mercedes grade. Its a nice design though.

I love the Macan, my friend has one. I think it looks better than the Cayenne. His is fassssst, he put some aftermarket exhaust on it.

Uh no, lol. A $30,000 Acura ain't even close to a $90,000 Mercedes....let alone when Mercedes were built the way they were then.

I've been in CLs and driven them. Nice cars but no, lol.

That plastic around the radio/HVAC is very cheap looking and as SW said that wood is fake. Steering wheel standard issue Honda.

When I got my ES300 in 2003 I really struggled with that or a 2003 TL. The TL was a lot cheaper (like $29K vs 39K), but it lacked a lot of tech the Lexus had and the Lexus had a way nicer interior, although I like that interior design a lot.

ES300 had an amazing interior that gen as we all know. Those interiors were nice too but yeah not ES level.

TL/CLs were really nice, my friend had a type S that he just destroyed, but hey not my car. 260hp was a lot back then.

I drove an 02 TL Type-S and that thing didn't seem any faster than my 07 TL base. In fact it felt slower and the interior wasn't as nice.

The A7 isn't an SUV; it's a sedan with a hatchback. Audi uses "Q" designations for its SUVs.

Well sure, it was the previous generation. Like we’ve been trying to tell you in general cars get better with each successive generation.

I actually much preferred the 2002 generation to the one that you had

I had a 2000 TL, which is what this CL was based on. The interior may "look" in pictures like it was similar to an MB, but not a chance it was "on par" with MB in person.
