That's sad, I was wondering if the other Germans did that as well since Audi has the same restriction. At least they don't plaster it all over the window like that, I prefer Lexus not caring.

My local bmw doesn’t care. But I think they all should. Some really abuse these loaners. I one time saw a Lexus loaner about 9 hours from its dealership.

Last Thursday I had my 5 Series in for service and got a '23 M340 x-drive with 1800 miles. It was fun to drive but it was raining so I took it easy. I always do anyway. No sign in the window. The SA went over everything verbally before signing the forms etc.

So I took it back and got a GLC, man its like a Rolls Royce compared to that A Class. Terrible.
But, to be fair if I need to drive 9 hours away, and my car is at the dealer for service or a warranty repair, then I need to drive 9 hours away. The point of the loaner is so my travel needs aren't interrupted by having my car in the shop. I've taken loaners and rental cars on trips before.

I'm not going to defend everything that dealerships do, but those disclaimers are probably there for a reason. Careless or negligent people will often simply trash anything that does not belong to them...or, in some cases, even that which does LOL.

This is for that little engine vibration at idle I tried to put it in for in December.
I always forget how much I like these GLCs…I would totally buy one. And it’s probably the best 4cyl implementation I have driven.

I mean, I'm not one to expect special treatment, but to put an S Class owner in an A Class with no power seats for what is likely to be a multi-day dealer stay isn't right...IMO...if they call me this afternoon and tell me its not going to be back today I'm going to request something better for the weekend...

my laugh was that steve said he didn't expect it but then repeatedly stated that he did expect it. if he expects it, perhaps when he makes the appointment, he should say he does want a loaner, and no craptastic a class.

I said "I'm not one to expect special treatment", and thats true, but in this specific situation having been given that car, that car shouldn't be a loaner car at a Mercedes dealership at all. Lets just say I didn't realize how crappy an A Class really was. IMO this shouldn't be "special treatment" it should be, treatment.
In that situation where they pulled a new C Class off the lot and scraped the labels off of it and gave it to me as a loaner, I didn't ask them to do that...they just did it.
I always request something thats not a GLA or GLB, but if thats all they had I would be totally fine, but that A class is not even a GLA or GLB lol. To give a Mercedes customer, certainly one with an S Class, an A Class that doesnt even have power seats is ridiculous, IMO. GLA or GLB sure, they have room they're easy to get in and out of, they have all manner of basic premium creature comforts. I struggled to get in and out of this little car, and to not have power seats on a Mercedes loaner where everybody has to adjust the seats is ridiculous. Oddly enough this was a high option A Class, it had real leather and distronic and all, I guess they just dont ever come with power seats...
Also if it was just one day, it would be fine, but if they're going to keep my car for 4 or 5 days without even looking at it when I made an appointment a week out and expect me to drive that little car around, and that I can only drive it 100 miles a day and not outside a 75 mile radius is ridiculous. Just work on my car in a timely manner and get it back to me and then what you put me in matters less.
Yeah, the dealer who sold me a $125,000 car and services it for me at a rate of $210 an hour, when they already had the car 4 days without looking at it for this issue 3 months ago and I had them give it back to me. Ridiculous. I made an appointment, just look at my car.
