I'm going to let my mechanic look at it when it goes to him for the next B service. He'll figure it out and take it up there and show them what they need to fix

Is Mercedes going to do something for the annoyance? Perhaps a free scent refill?

5. Ford

Why would 2 of the 3 most historically reliable brands (Honda and Toyota) be leased so frequently? I know nothing about leases so perhaps this is an ignorant question. I just always assumed if I ever leased I would do it with cars that were higher luxury, lower reliability since you know you wouldn't have to deal with them in 3 years..?
I know many people who leased a car because it cost $199 a month. They didn't care what it was, they got a new one every 3 years. Mostly Nissans and Toyotas.

That's perfect for some people. Many people (though not as many as a lot of you think) could not care less about anything other than basic transportation A to B.

It's like me in an art museum, some people sit and stare and/or draw all day long. That sounds like torture. A $100M slab of paint, the only thing that impresses me is the value. I appreciate art but I just don't care and don't ever go to art museums.

The way said art lover I'm sure knows what a Mercedes-Benz is and that it's upmarket, but that's it, all they know or care to know about it.

They can explain to me why the art is so great which would go in one ear and out the other, and my my ensuing explanation of what a Silver Arrow R129 SL is, they could not give two flips either. And that's all good.

I also wonder if these cars (Honda, Toyota leases in particular) have good/better residuals and people don't get in too ugly of a situation when they go to turn them in or potentially buy them out..?

I've leased many times. I've done it for the sole purpose of finding it to be the most efficient way to get into a new car every few years. I am one to grow tired of a car after about 2-3 years and have the desire to get something new. However, my priorities have since shifted therefore I have purchased, rather than leased, my current fleet. I could easily go back to leasing, though, depending on the car and my needs.

See I get all the pros of leasing, but I love owning bad *** cars free and clear. I don't care that they're old, each is special in its own way. It's not like it's a 2004 Pontiac in the garage.

I guess I should have said this was before the pandemic. But these are mostly people who only care about monthly payments, not the residuals or anything like that.

At $200 a month that's just a great deal no matter how you slice it for transport.

Exactly, and those get good-great mpg and I'd say insurance is cheap.

Cheap basic transportation.
