Does she drive aggressively? If so SL 100% but if she is after the emotion and isn't going to push it like crazy the LC is amazing

No no, honestly the Lexus would be the much better choice. Looks way better, NA screamer V8, Lexus reliability, and they FOR DAMN SURE put lottttts of money into that interior.

I honestly don't know about the new SL, I have a friend who has one, I haven't driven it or ridden in it, but it doesn't feel like an SL to me, it seems too short, too rounded and curved, the SL to me needs a long hood, a real GT car. I prefer the outgoing one.

I would choose the LC convertible, personally unless the better tech in the SL was really a big deal to you.

I was just saying that IF for some reason, starting from the CD format was a hard requirement, you can still get pretty far with the $800 it would cost to install that CD player inside the armrest, converting them to FLAC instead. But yeah, if owning is not part of the equation (and for many it isn't), choose your preferred lossless streaming service and just go nuts.
Yeah I got what you were saying, you can just get the CD for your collection and save the ripped lossless files to your phone...
LOL...me neither. She does have an SLK in the garage that she loves. I personally like the LC better and always have, I have the best SL anyway.. ;-). You couldn't be more right about long hoods.
She's gonna do what she wants but I'm gonna try to steer her toward the Lexus, it sure looks way better and I doubt she'd have any trouble with it.

I mentioned in here long ago I ordered a SL63 as soon as I could. I was unsatisfied with the color combo I ordered (not because of the absurd amounts of orange peel it had ) so I flipped it and am now sitting here with a projected 8 month long wait for my next order. For the record, I loved the LC but honestly it could not hold a candle to the SL's breadth. This is less of a concern for a 72 year old but I will add that the SL has better visibility. That's a SL55* and personally I found the R231 gross. Ugly overhangs and an interior that became dated very quickly. Great drive though.
EDIT, I noticed I typed SL53 above my pic, no clue why I did that lol

As an aside, it's a shame these don't come in V8:
It is on my must-have list. I find them to be beautiful and I love the restraint in the interior as well.

So I've been driving my father-in-law's 2013 X5 for a while. The passenger side wiper chatters really loudly on the way up. I tried cleaning it and don't think it's really old. Anyone have an idea what else can be done? I saw a youtube video where the guy bent the arm a bit to make them sit squarely on the windshield since his was tilted against the direction on the way up.

Scrub the windshield really well…
