Hmm yeah, that's the issue with expecting crossovers to have the same interior dimensions as a van. A van is very practical and is almost perfect. I say almost because they are so ugly compared to a sedan or even a typical crossover. That's the only issue, really, at least for me.
I am, just starting the process. 6 months left on the lease and we may need to order something. I would wait for the refresh GLS anyways which is coming in the fall.

See, I might be able to overlook a few rough edges if I have a Cadillac truck that's so quick it would beat my SL roadster, at least up to 60 or so.
I've seen 0-60 times as low as 5.5 seconds for a last gen Escalade, that's seriously quick. LX is plenty quick but nothing like that.
GM isn't perfect but the brand does have strengths, I think that's a fair statement.

I would just wait for the current generation to come into a price range you like and get that, then you have it all.
The previous gen is not a compelling vehicle IMO, I would rather have a Navigator.

This is a vehicle that deserves more attention than it gets

The difficulty with the Traverse is it only works as a strong value play. If you start loading it up with options the value prop is out of whack - it becomes pricey and then you're stuck with an interior that feels cheaper than key rivals.

I'll look at a car and I like it but by the time I upgrade from the base to the higher trims I like, the price goes up so much I'm now tempted by other brands & offerings in the same price range.
One of the main reasons I've never owned a Cadillac, I like them but something else gets chosen.

That slippery slope will get you though. You option A up to a certain point, and then realize you can get uplevel model B for around the same price. So you switch over. But then you don't wat a base model with no options, do you? So you start adding a couple of things. Pretty soon you're at double your initial budget.
