That's what angers me with the 4.0, it doesn't do super relaxed well since the boost threshold is still a thing and when boost does engage at low demand it "bumps" and you have to really modulate to make it feel like a perfectly uniform swell. If I'm demanding power that's different and the car absolutely wants to be driven that way, the W12 is happy to do both. That's why I like it so much since it's the most seamless engine I've ever driven, think driving a 4cyl your whole life then driving your first 8.....that's what it makes V8s feel like

I tried a GSF before I bought my first A8 and while a nice car and very balanced ultimately it didn't get my adrenaline up like the Germans nor did it make me feel like the king of the road.

Sounds like you need to get your revs up Bit. It's pretty quiet at low rpm. We've had the LC 500, GS F, RC F, IS 350 F Sport. The LC 500 exhaust makes it louder, but the engine itself sounds better than the turbo V8's we've had. Most of the reviews also talk about the great sounding noise of these engines vs. turbos. Do you think it would sound the same as a turbo?

Buy a V10 for sound....the LC does sound great but I'm really doubting you have ever owned half the stuff you claim to. Your opinions read like someone who "has owned everything" but in reality maybe has an IS350 or something around that tier and insists it's the best. I just can't believe without proof that you actually think an RX is better than a Porsche

As i consider picking up a RWD mid-size luxury sedan, one thing that keeps pulling me to the 540i over a GS(I'm shopping used), is the fact that the bimmer has a turbo charged I6, vs the GS using an NA V6. I probably need to go drive one, as I haven't driven anything with the 2GR-FKS, but I've heard a lot of complaints from Tacoma owners that the engine is anemic as all hell below 4,000 RPM, especially from those who owned the 4.0 in prior Tacos.

That’s at least the second time you’ve accused me of lying about cars. Not acceptable. All the cars I’ve talked about have been owned by my household and I was the primary driver. Some in my name some in another relative that lives with me. If you don’t like my opinion, fine. But stop accusing me of lying. I can prove it if needed, but why should I prove anything to you? Also I never said a RX is better than a Porsche. In some ways the Porsche is better. In some ways the RX is better. It depends on what you are looking for.

but you're right, a turbo v6/v8 will definitely sound different, maybe it's more of a 'woosh' sound, but with the lc, as i said, it's exhaust and intake WAY more than engine sound, even at high rpms. at least that's my impression.

Then prove it, you have repeatedly insisted that the mid tier Lexus products are something to write home about when that makes zero sense if you afford better as you claim. If you really can't discern the difference then yeah, I guess the nicer stuff is not worth it to you.
i also saw your other recent comment about how the rx and es are 'outclassed'. now if you compare an rx to a cayenne, then sure, but a cayenne cost 1.5 to 2x as much, so hardly surprising it's 'more'.
but what exactly do you compare an es or rx to for equal money? lexus has always looked for market gaps (smart!). the es and rx clearly appeal to people who don't care much about driving crazy fast like you do. they value refinement, value, reliability, comfort. on those things the es and rx excel.

Hi friends, happy Monday!
The weekend was not long enough and was over in a blink of an eye, ugh.
Back to grinding! 🚀 🪂
Anyone see something fun car related, please post it up!
