For me, the perfect set up I have is the 4.7 V8 with a 5 speed and full time 4WD I have no complaints, there is no variable valve timing to break either, however there is a timing belt which sucks as they have to be changed. . I like my 6 cylinder V6 because it's a big engine. I am perfectly fine with no turbos.

They tried to sell it as an upgrade, too, naturally. Zero MPG gain real world because it always goes straight to 8th and would require a heavier foot. Even car mags say that transmission "neuters" the engine.

It makes sense. The TTV8 at least replaced a V8...but that V8 it replaced was never ever on par with the Germans of that era anyway.

Jill loves the Escalade V, she can't believe they made it as in its so cool she can't believe they actually made it. Just to be clear lol

Cadillac isn't selling this as a sport sedan. They're selling is as a ridiculous dragster with an insane sound and exhaust, not a track monster.

I'm hard pressed to say I've heard a much better exhaust than that.

Yeah, I would not choose a TTV6 over a NA V8...but if its a 6 I'd rather it be turbo.

I LOVE it when a company makes goofy stuff just for car people. Thats what frustrates me about Lexus, they don't do that often (sometimes). But, the Escalade V is hilarious, I love it. One day they will be super collectable too.

Exactly. It's a V, not a Blackwing.

Have to hand it to Cadillac. They offer the Escalade with a large naturally aspirated 6.2 V8 and for extra $$$ you can have the 6.2 V8 Supercharged with 260 more HP. impressive. Throw in a diesel as well

Yep, lol. The regular 6.2 ain't no slouch either. Add all that and this crazy Escalade into how good this generation of the GM BOFs are, and yep.

Agreed. Hilarious and ridiculous and just bonkers. And other adjectives. Will absolutely be a collectible.

I have two 4 bangers now and one of them is awaiting an engine install as I had a new 4AG-GE built for the Corolla. The Civic is a 1.5L turbo. It's got decent shove, but is not "fast". It's smooth enough and does not sound thrashy. I had two V6 IS F Sports. The 250 was smooth, but lethargic. The 350 was great and I would have purchased the car except I had leased it and LFS leases were structured for a lower payment (and I put nothing down) and a higher residual. The residual on the 350 exceeded the car's value, so back it went. It was smooth and offered ample power.

My GS300 was the smoothest car I have had. The I6 was quiet even when it got north of 200K miles. The power was "deliberate" to put it nicely. I knew it wasn't fast when I bought it. I still thought the car was pretty refined especially considering it was 8 years old when I bought it and 21 years old when I sold it.

Those were very refined, and that I6 is legendary for more than just crazy tuning. It sounds and feels lovely and has good torque.

I actually like all of his videos, including the editing, and find how he and Randy Pobst play off each other pretty funny but he is not everyone's cup of tea.

Oh I"ve been meaning to say this since I've returned home from our 800 mile (each way) road trip in the LX.

I will never even leave town on the interstate unless it's in a huge tank like that, ever again. That sounds dramatic but I'm dead serious.

People (not saying anyone here) who hate people who drive big SUVs, or hate SUVs get over it because they ain't ever going anywhere. We were almost killed several times, once by a guy driving an overloaded 3500 with a trailer nearly as long as a school bus that almost slammed into us. I can't even imagine how much worse that would have been in a car. He may not have seen us at all even after I honked if we were in a car, or not the LX. Vehicles like these give you much confidence on the roads and make you feel extra safe, especially on the interstates. People are going to be buying these big BOFs until the end of time.

Did you feel the same about these? I don't remember you giving them any accolades.

Those aren't 700hp Escalades lol. Escalade is GM's most appealing model to begin with, other than the Corvette. I'd rather have a regular Escalade over a Vettte to begin with, but I'm not a sports car guy.

I personally never liked the Prowler, the Juke was fine and the Aztec believe it or not has followers.

I think my favorite funky car, which is only a little funky (mainly due to the drop-down doors), is the BMW Z1. I've long loved that thing.
