No air suspension? Wow.

i7 would be about $135,000, S580 would be about $142,000. i7 is much better equipped than the S Class at those numbers, S Class lacks the upgraded audio, rear wheel steering etc. Comparable S580 is about $150,000 but thats more than I want to spend.

I love CarPlay. I prefer the map systems, I like the fact that I have the same interface and all of my music etc in every car I drive, rental cars and the family car. Other carmakers also don't have interfaces as good as Teslas.

I have never even set a nav destination or paired my phone to BT in either car I have.

It rides well and handles great, but the lack of an air suspension is apparent in the overall sophistication of the ride. I drove of course my car but also an S580 right afterwards and the polish of the ride is nowhere close.

Good news is the Lucids now have carplay!

Did you test drive one of these?

So i7 is same price as the Lucid you drove today. Clearly you like the i7 much more. Good to at least have apples-to-apples comparison on the price tag and know what you like between two identically priced vehicles.

Good insight on Car Play, makes sense.

Those are supposed to get hot inside with that glass roof, would be a complete dealbreaker for me.

Cool. I’ve seen a few. IMO it lacks presence as its looks small. Doesn’t look like a big flagship. And interior design looks ok but not sure it will age well.

Can't speak for Lucid, but can tell you it's absolutely not an issue in a Tesla... And I live in FL where heat index is 100 and up for 3-4 months (including today). I sweat easily so was a little nervous about it but can't believe how it's not hot.

It doesn’t look like a big flagship, but it does look special and different, I think they’re beautiful. It’s also considerably smaller, it’s like a foot shorter but just as big inside.

since you're leasing i presume, the numbers out of pocket won't be anything like those amounts. 3 years is probably half that?

I have to get some lease quotes. My guess is the S and the 7 will be $1,800-$1,900 a month, the i7 has a big gas savings obviously as at $5 a gallon I’m paying $400 a month or so in fuel.

If you can give up some ride quality, you will find that the Lucid Air is altogether more athletic car than the EQS or i7 while still being more comfortable than a Model S. The weird thing about this car is that the tech really isn't that great. The automated driving functions lag the usual competitors and the software is riddled with errors and it all just seems unfinished. It has gotten significantly better since January when I first rode in my neighbor's car but it's a no thanks from me. Also, if you get the extended battery the rear seat situation is a bit uncomfortable over a long period of time. You have a high knee or legs full out situation going on which is common in EVs.

It was in the original plans and still might be available one day but not anytime soon.

Ha I'm opposite. I can tell when Google Maps is going to be more sensical and I'll use that or Waze when the situation calls for it. Otherwise I prefer to use the manufacturer's software. I find Mercedes' augmented reality to be super helpful in the crowded streets here, for example.
