Ah I thought she was on board as well. It's wild you can't find a Carnival at MSRP yet, but I guess if you don't want to go out of state that makes things more difficult. Any dealers on your way to family in WV that might want to deal? Nothing like an impromptu visit to see the relatives with a small stop along the way.

Done at a Toyota dealer too. I wonder if the part was difficult to get

Found this in the Car and Driver archives. Fun to look back. Here is their review of the 4Runner from January 1996. Paging @LexsCTJill as I think you'll enjoy it.

As a side note, I really enjoyed 1990s Toyota interiors (nostalgia and all that). From the linked article:

Stumbled onto this, always liked these cars.
No wonder 3800s felt so good, the torque peak was 2k RPM flat. I always knew those weren't high revvers but that's a lowww peak.

That's at least a $60,000 car today which is sort of mind-blowing. But these were all around.

Finally seeing LXs pop up around town and a few at the dealer, it’s about time.
I like it but it has been well surpassed by virtually everything in all but off road capabilities, including the Denali which is $30,000 cheaper.
The competition has just gotten so good, same thing why the LS is a mess. It wasn’t such a runaway in the past.

Those Town Cars weren’t bad, they were just absurdly big and ponderous to drive around.
